As of Oct 11 this placed is closed, i.e. all the interior furnishings and fixtures removed. It is now an empty storefront.

We had the fried pickles and Shrimp & Grits, and the food was worth the price! I plan on coming back the next time I’m in Roxboro.
Some reviews here mention complaints of pricing, but I’d MUCH rather give $55 to this local business, than give $5.00 to McDonald’s for a super-processed mcChicken.

While the owner prepared the food, served us, and chatted respectfully, I was wondering how I can help this locally owned and operated restaurant.. So, I plan on bringing my friends and family here in the future as well as subtly advertising anyway I can.

Message to owner; the food was great and I really do plan on returning. Take some of these reviews in, and leave the rest! It sounds like people are just looking for consistency, reliability, and comfort. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! I don’t know if there are restaurant-crisis teams, but if you’re able to I recommend doing a huge wave of coupons, flyers, and local advertising on a Monday or Tuesday and having at least 2 servers, 1 food prepper and 1 cook standing at the ready position!
Be ready because service is not likely to take-off, but an increase is what matters and I recommend coupons, family-night specials where kids are discounted or free(because that brings in a whole new generation of customers!) As for pricing, (in the end)profiting $4/plate on 15 plates is a 50% more than profiting $8/plate on 5 plates, and will get a better customer return and attract new customers!
I think anyone will rather spend $10 for one of your burgers than $10 for a McDonald’s fatty-liver cancer diagnosis in a paper bag, but first we need to get your name out there and have a team on standby to make some money!
I’m not a licensed business coach so don’t base your financial decisions on anything I say or take anything as professional advice.

This is one of those restaurants that is easy to love. The chef is amazing. She crafts a varied and adventurous menu. I can truly say I have yet to have a meal I didn't enjoy and wasn't worth the wait. And you will wait. The chef frequently finds herself juggling all the balls at once. Cook, server, bartender- she does it all. Pack your patience. Go and enjoy the ambiance. Roxboro's past is whispering through the walls, inviting you to come visit with with your family and friends. Uptown Roxboro is becoming a bit of a small town foodie destination. Don't miss this hidden gem. Go to relax, take some deep breaths.Sometimes just passing time is well spent time!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 19th anniversary at Depot Southern Bistro, and it was truly a hidden gem in Downtown Roxboro. The owner, Michelle is also the chef, creates delicious dishes that showcase incredible flavor and care — you can tell it’s a labor of love.

While the service isn’t lightning-fast, it’s definitely worth the wait, as every bite is a testament to quality and passion. Highly recommend — we’ll be returning soon!

Friendly waitress, but the restaurant was very OVERPRICED!!! I went as 1 in a party of 4, and only 2 of us had drinks. When the check came, I misread it, thinking it was for 82 dollars. I recall thinking that 82 dollars was a reasonable price. Just before leaving, I was made aware that the actual cost was about 320 dollars, and that 82 dollars was the suggested tip, which made my final total an even 400 dollars!!! There was no air conditioning. They couldn't make any of the drinks we ordered because they were out of just about everything. They only had 1 burger, so one of our guests had to order something else. The only thing they had to drink was cola and tea. Don't even think of getting a mixed drink here! I wanted an Absolute and cranberry, but I had to settle for Grey Goose and tea. If you do go here, I strongly suggest that you do not get any alcohol as my drinks were 16 dollars each and weren't very good. Overall, the food was ok, what they had, but this was by no means imaginable, a 400 dollar meal! I have been to many nicer restaurants, and the checks weren't even a third this much.

Ate an impromptu lunch at The Depot today. The owner, Michelle, was warm, welcoming and a wonderful hostess. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food, delicious. Be sure to try the “Shortcake Michelle”

Delicious food and great service! They stayed open longer for our group and asked us if they could change the music to fit our taste. They have a bar with a large variety and everything we ordered was perfect. We all left with full bellies and a smile on our faces! One of our favorite go-to restaurants in downtown roxboro, we could not recommend this place enough!

A high-quality meal with wholesome, down to earth service. The staff is very welcoming and willing to make accommodations. They greet me with a smile every single time I walk in the door!

Very overpriced. Two apps, two entrees and two drinks was $127. Food was average. Place was empty at 6:30pm.

Oh where do I begin, long review incoming. Third time is a charm, I guess, I suppose. Had tried to eat here previously but they were either closed(door unlocked but was told to come back) or didn’t get there on their weird hours. “Red flag”. We should have listened to the universe, it told us twice. Decided to have a Saturday date night. Granted, their Saturday hours are 5pm-10pm. Since we were dismissed previously showing up “early” we made sure to arrive at 5:30ish. When we arrived at PRIME dinner time, there was only one other couple there. That remained the case until we left @ 7:00. On a Saturday. Another red flag. From 5:30-7pm only us and 1 other table. Started with the boudin balls recommended by the server. More on her later. Balls were Meh. Sooooo many onions. Asked about the “pork belly & Mac n cheese” and our amazing, well informed, and on point waitress, when asked about the dish explained-ish what pork belly was not what the “Special” dish consisted of. I reiterated that I just needed an explanation of the dish and she couldn’t provide one. Main course was for me the smash burger and fries, husband was one of the specials, ribeye w/ grilled shrimp. No one mentioned that the fries had some weird cinnamon/sugar seasoning on them that made them absolutely disgusting. If I wanted sweet fries, offer sweet potato. You know what, I can’t even. My Karen is showing (unlike all of the reviews she had her friends fake post) and I’m sick typing this review. Food was terrible. Didn’t get the shrimp we paid for. I feel comfortable saying that the previous good reviews were made by her friends or acquaintances. NO WAY these are authentic reviews. I have so much more to say but I am so tired of typing. If you go here, may the odds be ever in your favor. Sorry but I’m tapping out.
