Ate an impromptu lunch at The Depot today. The owner, Michelle, was warm, welcoming and a wonderful hostess. The atmosphere is relaxing and the food, delicious. Be sure to try the “Shortcake Michelle”

We had a fabulous meal prepared and served by Michelle who was friendly, helpful and answered all the questions. This neat little restaurant is located in downtown Roxboro.
Frog's legs to start were amazing. I've not had frog's legs in a very long time and so I stepped out of my comfort zone. Great breading and very tasty!
For main, I chose the cowboy burger. Cooked a little more than I wanted but it was still delicious and served with a spicy pepper jack cheese, fried jalapeno rounds and some amazing fries. The burger had a great taste to it.
I did not encounter any negatives, other than the slightly overcooked burger. My friends enjoyed their seafood and the ribeye steak. Next time, maybe I'll go with the shrimp and grits. It sounded like a great option!

Parking: Parking lot to the side and street parking all around.
Kid-friendliness: Might be a little highbrow for most kids.

If I could give less, I would. I asked for the burger, simple. Asked if fries could be substituted with green salad, yes, they said. Only to receive the bill with extra charge for wilted, iceberg lettuce salad. I'm not sure why people give this place 4 or higher stars. It cost $27 and change for a lousy burger, no bun, no fries, wilted salad, and and unsweet tea. Never again.

Tonight was my first night coming here. By far had the absolute best service. The owner was so welcoming you can tell she puts so much love, care and effort into this place. She was training someone new and he was super patient as was I. The steak and shrimp was omg the most amazing thing ever!!!! I will be back. Come enjoy watch her do what she loves ask questions she's simply amazing.

Absolutely horrendous. Food was atrocious and we were charged extra on almost every order. They came back every 7 minutes to ask who was with who and who ordered what. We were there for over 2 hours and only spent about 20 minutes of that actually eating. Me and my friend ordered lemonades and they both came in different colors. Mine tasted like pure syrup and his was water with lemon juice in it. Pop was served in bottles from the store. Food took forever to get there and some of it was wrong. I ordered a smash burger with bacon and the bacon was undercooked so I had to take that off. They could not for the life of them get the bills right, so my mom had to do it for them. Our main waitress had only been working there for 4 days, so she was struggling. The other waitress did not help her and made her do the majority of the work. We were still in the end charged for wrong things and paid way extra. In addition they charged my cousin for cheese on his burger and 7 dollars for 2 sprites. The fries had sugar or something on them which made them un-eatable. My dad ordered a drink while we were waiting for the food for and hour, which came out right when we were about to leave. We were still charged for that. No one had a good experience and it was terrible. Way overpriced as well.

No kids menu offered, but they were able to make some chicken tenders. Kids ordered lemonade, and it was either pure syrup, or water with a squeeze of lemon. Over an hour for just 2 side salads to come out, then food started finally being served in spurts. We had repeated our orders at least 3 times to figure out checks (3 families) during the process, and meals were still forgotten. Kids were done with their meals for an hour before everyone had their food. I ordered an extra drink after the last meals came so I had something while I waited for them to eat. Not until we asked for checks did they follow up on my drink, which at that point I said I didn't want, but they brought it and charged me anyway. At least I had something for the 30 minute process of them figuring out our checks, only to first get them all completely wrong, and my wife wrote each one out individually for them. Still wrong, but we just wanted to leave at that point, so I paid it anyway. Nephew was charged $28! for some "super smash burger" that wasn't even on the menu, so no way he ordered it. My son ordered the same thing and it was only $18. I asked for a sweet tea with a couple shots of Jack in it, they brought the jack out separately, and charged $24. For Jack Daniels... A bottle costs under $20. Staff was nice and pleasant, but a good attitude couldn't make up for such a bad dining experience.

Real nice atmosphere and delicious food. The owner is really passionate about the food and the dining experience of the customer. I'm not local to Roxboro, but whenever I find myself passing through, I'm making a stop here.

Dining in is slow service. They keep you there as long as possible hoping you will order more drinks while you wait on food. Drinks are very expensive

My husband and I enjoyed our lunch. Michelle was very sweet and friendly. Our food was wonderful. The restaurant was beautiful. Michelle was very outgoing and very attentive . Will definitely come back next trip to Roxboro!
