Old Country Club Steak House

The steak was great and the cheese appitizer was wonderful as I am on a low carb diet. Wendy was a wonderful 1st rate waitress! I seldom have service like that!

Just went to make a delivery but the view of the lake from here is amazing

This is probably one of the hardest reviews because growing up in bahama this was always one of my favorite places to go get a good steak with family. It had been a while since I have been so I decided to take my mother out for her birthday. Salad bar was great, service was great, at that point, everything was fine…. Til the steaks came. My gf and I ordered med rare steaks, which came out well done, so decided to send it back, in which it came out almost purple. Whether it hit the grill or not I don’t know. I’m never a fan of sending food back multiple times, so decided I’ll just take it home. Well my mother asked, rightfully so, if the cooks were new. And we were met with a rude look and head shake. Ok, 1st issue. Then when they brought my box they brought a hot plate, which I assume was to cook my steak to how I like it. Haha. 2nd issue. I had to laugh it off but just wanted to go at this point so skipped desert and all and on my way out I was exited with side ways looks from other members of the staff. Strike 3. Unfortunately they don’t know I am local of 30 years and know this place pretty well, and I believe they assumed I was an out of towner. So I spoke with the assistant manager about it and he was very respectful and understanding. Unfortunately I won’t be returning any time soon because I don’t expect to have to cook my steak myself on a hot plate at a steakhouse for $40.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for almost 40 years. Same great steaks cooked over live charcoal. It’s worth going just for the Salad Bar alone. You won’t find better service anywhere than this down home family steakhouse.

Great meal and Wendy our server was awesome. Salad bar is loaded fresh. I had catfish delicious and others had lamb they told me not dry and very tasty.

The place is a gigantic barn-like place. The food was bland. We ordered steak medium rare and it was overcooked and tasted like charcoal. The whole experience was bland and much too expensive for such a tasteless meal.

Food is decent, I would give it 3 1/2 stars if I could as that would be more accurate. IMO the steaks are good quality but tasteless, with little to no flavor unless doused in some kind of sauce (e.g. A1, etc...). Our service was good and all the orders were correct. I will say the hot fudge cake was really good. The atmosphere is quite blah...kind of dark inside, an old building (with the restaurant being there since 1970). Outside is quite nice, with the restaurant being on the golf course and Chubb Lake behind it. Not a lot of places to choose from in the area, so maybe worth a try.
