Wonderful beers as always! I tried the Flora Vino and it was super tasty.

Great beer, cool vibes, but the sandwiches at the bar are WAY too expensive. Otherwise, 10/10 would come back again

HRFA is killin' it, everything the head brewer Rebecca touches is magic. Always a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the garden, people watch, and bask in the chill vibes of Sax.

Very interesting beers. Each is available as a full or half pour so it is easy to choose several for tasting. My favorite "For Restful Death" lived up to the funky in the description. While others thought is was fruity, I tasted honey but fresh not overly sweet. The Sun Hands Golden Strong had an distinct dank flavor. With my eyes closed the Javalantern tasted like a cold brew coffee with backnotes of fall spices. Not sure what the name was but the cherry brandy and syrah barrel-aged stout was rich, medicinal and bitter. The hard selter was very subtly pineapple and habanero. Would definitely go again and try more beers. Beautiful area with stores and restaurants and walking trails. Nice outdoor seating area with a small indoor bar.

Love this little spot when the weather is nice. Big menu of beers and the outside seating is cozy. I tried the raspberry wheat this time. They have a choice of half or full pour or flights. Nice place to grab a drink before a show at Haw River Ballroom.

This farmhouse style brewery is tucked away in the bottom of an old mill facility. Kudos for the repurposed use of space, and kudos for making phenomenal ales that clearly have a style. These are the kinds of beers I strive to brew. Subtle and satisfying.I've been meaning to check this place out for years, and it's nice to come on a quiet afternoon where I can enjoy the springtime weather in peace.Cheers, folks!

We've been here once before, years ago, and they didn't have anything gluten reduced for me to drink, including wine, seltzer or cider. We were hoping it would be different this time since we ran across a canned Saison by them a year or so ago at a bottle shop in Durham.Initially we were told they didn't have anything for me. But upon further discussion, one of the people we were speaking with remembered that one of their tap beers was a collaboration with another brewery in Burlington and Clarex was used as the clarifier. So that beer was actually gluten reduced, but just wasn't advertised as such. The name on this one was pretty funny (Oprah, Barbara Walters, something, something, something...), but it was a stout, which I was more than happy to try.The nose on it was exceptional and the beer itself was very smooth and had a good flavor profile. Not too sweet, but bold. They didn't have it canned, but we were able to take it with us in growlers. So we took 2 of those home.I was told they are working on some more smaller batch beers that they plan to use the Clarex clarifier in, which will make them gluten free, or gluten reduced if that's your preferrred language. I'm excited to see what they come out with next that I can drink, and I just hope it's a Saison or Sour and not another bloody IPA.
Awesome little hidden gem. If you're in the area definitely check it out!

Excellent brews with some of the most unique flavor complexities I have ever tried. Definitely in my top favorite breweries in NC.

So my first Saxapahaw visit happened just a couple of Saturdays ago. It started off with a hike before lunch at The Eddy followed by a walk-through of the ballroom, and eventually getting to Haw River Farmhouse Ales. The picture of the flight, without the cookies, was from my first visit and the group of my friends, and I actually all decided to visit just that next Saturday. Parking was a little bit tough with all of the vendors set up everywhere, but once we found a spot, it was awesome! Ending our day here, at Haw River Farmhouse Ales was just perfect. The bartender, I believe his name is Carl, is awesome. Super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. It’s a little bit of a drive or I would be more of a regular. Definitely has that cozy & fun atmosphere that you don’t know how much you need it until you’re there. Do yourself a favor and make a day out of it.

Love the small pours option Place is small but an incredible spot. Love how they kept and integrated the old walls. Love the railing for the beer. Outstanding service by bartender. Had a Mexican chocolate and a hot pepper one. They were both tasty and unique.

Solid lineup of ales with some creative twists in a quiet, pastoral setting. Haw River is a great escape from the regular Triangle or Triad breweries. It features a quality lineup that will let everyone find something they enjoy. Even my gose loving brother-in-law and lager loving wife would be happy with an afternoon of drinking here. It's location is quieter and more peaceful than many of your highway or runway adjacent microbrews. Definitely worth the drive if you have the time.
