We have passed this restaurant a number of times and this time, after visiting the North Carolina Zoo but not eating there, we decided to stop for an early dinner. We were seated immediately. My wife had broiled trout, which she declared as excellent. I had their barbecue dinner. North Carolina has two schools of thought on barbecue, that in the western part of the state containing, I believe, more vinegar. My granddaughter and I had the fried popcorn shrimp. It was delicious. My wife had the hamburger steak with gravy and mushrooms. The gravy and mushrooms were awful! The hamburger steak was good. They must have been shorthanded because it took 15 minutes for them to come give us a menu and take our drink order. Food arrived maybe 15 minutes later.
