Minervini's New York Bagel Co

Was really disappointed with my pick up order. The meat lovers on a sub roll only had 2 pieces of small bacon cut in half on each side. One small round sausage party cut in half on each side. Not good. I also ordered a ham egg and cheese on wheat toast in which the bread was not toasted. For the money I am no longer giving this establishment my business.

The Asiago bagel sandwich with egg was very good! However, the coffee was not very good and when asked for cream, it was not given. The blueberry muffin and sun dried tomato bagel sandwich was very bland and lacked flavor. The muffin was requested to be warmed and it was not. The service was not very bright when asked to split payments and took a while to figure out. The price was very good and atmosphere was very cute!

Amazing food. Terrible coffee. If you’re looking for a spot to get a hot latte do not come here. This place is the best place to grab breakfast in the whole area and never fails to disappoint, however the hot coffee is disgusting, which is a recent development. I had hoped that in the last few months this would self correct but it hasn’t so I’ll leave this as constructive criticism. The hot coffee has gotten so bad that I keep ordering it in hopes of it being better, and end up throwing it away. Will still come for the food.

A few years ago, I had an experience here that was alarming and unlike anything I’ve encountered elsewhere. I’m sharing this as a caution to others who might consider dining at this establishment.

I had previously visited this bagel shop frequently while working in the North Topsail area. The company I worked for competed against another business out of sneads ferry. They didn't like the competition. When I returned the following summer with a friend from Sneads Ferry, the staff seemed to recognize me, which felt strange, and I felt I was being watched closely.

I ordered a simple Taylor ham and cheese bagel, but when I received it, it looked very poorly made—thinly sliced ham, overcooked eggs, and a bagel that was overly toasted. I ate it because I was hungry, but less than an hour after, I became very ill with intense nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain.

Feeling desperate to understand what had happened, I called the restaurant, explained how sick I felt after eating there, and asked if there might have been an issue with the food. The woman I spoke with seemed to know who I was, mentioning my friend by name, and then ended the call abruptly.

This incident was extremely distressing, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through a similar experience. I have never encountered anything quite like this from any other restaurant.

My advice: avoid this place. The experience I had was negative enough that I wouldn’t feel safe eating here again.

We’ve vacationed here for almost 20 years. It’s tradition that we get bagels the first morning and return a few more times during the week. We’ve always had fresh bagels, great service, and we love the mixture of NYC and Eastern North Carolina charm.

Thanks for making our vacation a little better each year.

Great food. We came for lunch one day and had good deli sandwiches and came back later in the week for breakfast. Highly recommend. The one star subtraction is for the dirty bathroom on both visits.

They don't know what sopressata is. Nuff said.

Reply to the owner response: not one single employee in that business right now knows what sopressata is.nor do they know anything about NY , why not just take the NY off your sign. Ill add the picture of this crappy bagel my wife bought. Should've went to NY corner deli.

Absolutely delicious and worth the wait. My husband and I both ordered breakfast bagel sandwiches and a bagel with cream cheese. We both got coffees. Their mocha cream was fabulous. probably one of the best iced coffees I've ever had anywhere. I'd love to know how they make it, ha! If I'm ever in the area again I will be back for sure.

Staff need stop gossiping and do their jobs, 3 customers waited 20-30 min for simple flat top items and bagels that would normally take 5 min. Flat top grill staff kept flirting with the girls and the girls kept occupying his attention away from the flat top. The bathroom is dirty and unsanitary and the tables are never wiped down. Glass has grease prints all over it and while standing and ordering looking around you can see the place hadn’t been mopped or wiped down in a while. The owner of this establishment shouldn’t leave it to be run by teens and incompetent staff who are more tuned to flirting with underage girls rather than do his job. The food was burnt and not cooked correctly which who would expect different when the cook isn’t even cooking and just talking. This place has really gone down hill over the years.

By far .. the best place for bagels in Sneads Ferry! They are so tasty and each flavor pops!!! Their flavored cream cheese are soooo good and their pastries rock!! It’s always busy but their counter and kitchen help are always so nice and patient with answering my questions!!!
