Stopped by Rick’s while visiting the area, and honestly—it’s been the best spot we’ve found by far! The vibe was fun and relaxed, and the staff made us feel like locals right away. I ordered Wings and wow—they were crispy, saucy, and full of flavor. Perfect with a cold drink while catching a game on the screens all around. If you’re in town and want great food, good service, and a chill atmosphere, Rick’s is 100% worth it. We’ll definitely be coming back before we leave!

On the plus side, we called ahead and got on the waitlist. They seated us as soon as we arrived. My wife ordered a pina colada and there wasn’t a drop of rum to be found. The halibut special was ok. The mushroom and onion side was probably out of a can. Rick’s mac and cheese was good. The crab cakes were terrible. $28 for crab cakes that were likely premade. They advertise lump crab meat but there was not a lump to be found. It was all filler, little meat, and fried panko bread crumbs. Having lived in Maryland, we complained and they gave us 50% off of the crab cake platter. The clam chowder was bland. We thought this was a reasonably priced off island option but it was overpriced and under delivered. The service was good but the kitchen needs work on the food front.

We live here locally and love Ricks and everything about it. We understand it's tourist season and you will have to wait but a two hour wait is extreme and told they were waiting on some stuff to get there. Also the woman with the long hair and glasses at the front taking names is one of the rudest we have had to deal with tonight, maybe she was stressed out but someone needs to talk to her and train her how to deal with the public she was part of the problem why everyone was having to wait so long she didnt knoe what she was doing. Again Ricks is great any other time we have been must have been an off night.

Awesome place for lunch or dinner, great owners produce good service.

We love Ricks… we’ve never had a bad time here. The drinks are good, the food is great…. The service is even better. I’ve probably eaten at Ricks every week since I’ve lived in Sneads Ferry. My most recent favorite is the Mac Burger with a side caesar salad and a sweet tea… definitely come here with your family, it’s worth your while.

OH MY GOSH. the food is actually the best restaurant food i have ever tasted. we shared seared scallops, crab dip, and a shrimp po boy and I have never ate so much in my life. The food is divine, as well as the Key Lime Pie Martini. It tastes like a melted milkshake in the best way possible. 100/10.

UPDATE: We came back of course and had the best experience with the server Dallas. He was funny and made us feel so comfortable.

Food was good and is always consistent. However, we had gnats flying around at our table. In addition, bathroom stall latch in women's restroom was broken and this was acknowleged with handwritten sign on stall door. Why not fix this?
This is a regular spot for us when visiting Topsail Beach. It is also our understanding (confirmed by our waitress) that Rick (one of the owners) was sitting at the bar having dinner.
It just seems to our group that a lack of attention to some details are not being addressed.

I've been here many times and in the past was never so impressed by the food. Nothing was bad at all, but nothing was great either. I went last week and everything that everyone at our table had was great! The service and atmosphere are always good, but the food has improved. If you haven't been here, or haven't been in a while, give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised like I was.
