My husband and I had never been to Ashten’s before this past Saturday (Dec. 13), and we were blown away! We attended with some lovely friends and sat in the alcove. The food, drinks and service were exceptional.
Highly recommend!

Food quality is A+. Service is A+. Restroom cleanliness is pretty good. You can always get a fair idea of the quality of the restaurant based on the cleanliness of their restrooms btw.
However, you get what you pay for... In other words, you pay a lot and you certainly get an AMAZING quality for your dollar. In summary, I highly recommend! Good job Ashten's staff. Special shout out to my waitress Ms. Rachel and the host of the evening on 13 Dec. 2025, Ms. Adeline. Both of you did an amazing job giving me and my family a wonderful first time experience. THANK YOU!

The food was delicious I cannot argue with that. Even the drinks we had were delicious and strong if I might add. Just how I like them. This was my first time at the establishment although I’ve heard or seen them for years. What has me upset is, when I booked my party there was no discussion about gratuity. Which is fine, however the waitress we had should have asked or told us that SHE is aloud to pick how much gratuity she wants. I personally feel like that’s not fair. I understand the 8 or more gratuity is included as this is a thing pretty much anywhere. Cool fine but when we looked over our checks gratuity was not included at that time. So we left what we personally wanted. We literally checked our bank accounts and noticed $30 was taking out of our personal accounts along with what we paid. Again personally I don’t feel like without my consent of tips being taking out of my account is unfair. When I spoke with staff at the restaurant she kept saying well “in her defense per our policy she does not have to tell customers” or that it was on the back of the menu. Mind you we had a selected menu because of how big our party was. Why would we check the back of the menu? All in all the food was good and the service was decent. I just don’t like being told I don’t have to be aware of how much money is to be taken for a tip.

Was a special night for 6 courses and paired wines. Food and service were excellent. Just a bit noisy if you're looking for something a bit romantic.

Absolutely phenomenal experience! The food was wonderful and beautifully presented. What made our night was the server. Gracie was very attentive and anticipated everything we needed before having to ask. The ice cream was very tasty and we will be back! If you’re thinking about coming here, do it and asked for Gracie!

The food was pretty good, the drinks were stellar. But… our food took 90 minutes to come out and they were sold out of dessert. The NY strip is good but not worth $50+… it’s more worth like $35. The duck was excellent.

Every time we go we have an amazing experience. We have visited throughout the years and it’s always good. Great food and excellent cocktails with a cozy atmosphere . I advise sitting on the pub side. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A testament to Southern elegance, culinary soul, and the beauty of an unhurried evening.
There are places you visit for dinner, and there are places, rare places, that remind you why we gather at a table at all. Ashten’s is the latter.
From the first step inside, the atmosphere draws you in: crimson walls, warm lamplight, rich wood, and a quiet hum that invites you to slow down. It feels less like a restaurant and more like someone’s cherished parlor, curated with history, warmth, and intention.
Service, led with care by Maddison, set the evening’s tone. Neither rehearsed nor distant, she moved with an intuitive grace, offering guidance, honoring silence, and treating the meal not as service, but as hospitality.
The evening opened with The Original Reuben Eggroll, familiar in spirit, inventive in form. It was the kind of appetizer that tells you, quietly, you are in skilled hands.
For the main course, the 12 oz. Brasstown Beef NY Strip, a dish grounded not only in flavor, but in place, an homage to North Carolina’s farms and fields.
Across the table, the Ashten’s Asher Blue Burger with Bacon, stood as proof that comfort food, when respected, can rise to something unforgettable.
To accompany it all, the Apple Cider Margaritas, rimmed with five-spice salt and garnished with thin ribbons of Granny Smith apple, echoed the season. Crisp, spiced, reflective, a drink meant to be sipped, not simply consumed.
And then came reverence in the form of dessert, Ashten’s Signature Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake, a decade in the making. Tall, dark, unapologetically rich. Each bite layered with the balance of sweet and salt, memory and indulgence. A finale that does not exit quietly.
What sets Ashten’s apart is not only culinary excellence, it is the respect for presence. This is a place that understands that dining, at its best, is an experience of connection. A meal not rushed, a table treated as a moment in time.
Five stars without hesitation.
For the food, yes. But more importantly, for the artistry of feeling.

Food was great, service not so much. Our waitress wasn’t very helpful when it came to explaining the specials or the regular items on the menu and ghosted us a few times. In her defense, we did put in a few orders of apps because we couldn’t decide what we wanted for our entrees. But when we did figure our orders out, she was no where to be seen for like 20-30 minutes. The four top we were sat at probably should have been a two top so people could walk around us and two of our members could walk on cement instead of almost wiping out on Pinestraw. I mean overall, we had a good time and the food was consistently delicious, but just small things here and there stuck out, especially because the price of the food.

Great for dependable meals with homestyle service
Superlative service during the crush of Sunday evening supper. Enjoyed a bite & drinks at the bar, Adam, an absolute mountain of a man behind the bar, was a dancing bear as he expertly wove between fixing up first rate cocktails for the other patrons & I while conversing, managing my food orders, etc.
A wonderful, local, North Carolinian experience!
