Prices have gone up a small amount as they are under new management. They redid the bar area and it is nice. They also have switched the nines. Back nine is now 1 to 9 which puts the old front nine to the back nine. I like it as we can now pass the sandwich area and restrooms when we finish the front nine. Logistically this makes sense. Greens are still wonderful as they were 5 years ago. I like playing this golf course. Never too crowded.

Save your time and money. Carts barely work or have brakes. Pins don't have reflectors and with the pines behind every green you may get a 163 yard reading, or 230 because they can't seem to get this place on the same level as what they charge. 'The Marshall' followed each of our 4 groups the first and hole interrupted us to remind us he didn't want to be a 'Dick' and then proceeded to be a Dick and blamed it on the 'superintendent' Oh, and nearly half the holes were cart path only. Why? I have no idea but I won't be back because in NC you can pay half of what they charge here and have a much better experience.

This course has been redone and is in spectacular shape. The greens are immaculate and challenging with several false fronts. Pin placements were a little silly in some cases. The only real negative was the starter. What an unprofessional dolt. If you're going to have someone on your front line they need to understand diplomacy. He was basically a jerk.

Southern Pines has a great legacy and could be great again, but right now it is a dump. We come to Pinehurst every year and it had been 5 years or so since we played Southern Pines. Great layout, but it needs a lot of work. Our understanding is that the course will have new ownership soon. We will hold off on playing until we see reviews that the new ownership group is investing in the course and restoring it to a playable condition.
