Pinescone Café is such a cute little spot in Southern Pines, and I really enjoyed my visit! They have a nice variety of scones, both savory and sweet.
I tried the jalapeño cheddar scone with ham, eggs, and cheese, and it was absolutely delicious—fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the salty kick. I’ll definitely be back for more of the savory options!
I also picked up a variety box of sweet scones, and I have mixed feelings. The good part is they’re not overly sweet, which I love. But for me, the flavor leaned a little too salty, almost like they used salted butter or a heavy pinch of salt in the dough. It created a bit of a clash with the sweetness, and my taste buds weren’t quite sure what to make of it. That said, taste is subjective—others may really enjoy that unique twist!
Overall, the café is charming, the savory scones are fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back to grab another one of those jalapeño cheddar scones.

Love their savory scones and the green goblin scone! They are always swamped with customers. Go early for your favorite scone.

Went on a Sunday morning. I said my pleases and thank yous several times to the girl taking my order but she seemed like she couldn’t be bothered to have any inkling of a warm personality. It actually seemed that way for most of the girls working there that morning and of course it’s an establishment where you tip ahead. I was mostly disappointed that my scone breakfast sandwich was microwaved. It had that radiated taste and also freezing cold on the bottom center.
I wouldn’t have minded if it had taken longer to be toasted since I never microwave my food.
Other than that, the coffee was really good. Would have liked a real mug since I was dining in, but I wasn’t offered one. However, I saw a cabinet full of them after the fact.

We have gone to Pine Scone twice now when in Pine Hurst, it was a great place. We enjoyed the service and our drinks.

Love Pine Scones! They have an amazing array of gluten free scones! You can even turn them into breakfast sandwiches! And their coffee and teas are delicious. I would recommend the jalapeño cheddar scone for a savory one, and the cinnamon chip for a sweet one. I haven't been able to try them all, but I've had three or four of their flavors and there hasn't been one that was anything less than delicious.

My dad and I stopped in while on a road trip; he got a black drip coffee and I got the iced caramel macchiato. Both drinks are great! Service was quick and friendly, the shop was clean, and the prices were very reasonable! We will definitely come back if we ever find ourselves in the area again 😊
Very pleasant place, staff was incredibly nice and welcoming!
Adorable shop with really great scones. A few cool local gifts AND take and bake scone dough!!!
I got a decaf latte and it was so yummy. Hard to find a good decaf. The staff was very nice as well and the seating areas were very cozy and stylish.

So great! The scones were phenomenal! Very innovative to do a sandwich out of a scone!!!!! Great service, very cheerful staff! Amazing location! Hidden gem for sure.
Small but cozy facility with excellent food.
Nice little place relatively close to the town of Pinehurst. My wife had a salted caramel scone which was great. She also said she had probably the best chai tea she's ever had. I got the "South Carolina" sandwich which was a bacon/egg/cheese on a jalapeno cheddar scone. The sandwich was okay and had the premade egg "patty" as opposed to a fresh cooked egg but other than that it was good. Nice spot to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee so we will definitely be back

First visit and will be our last. 10 minutes at the counter. 3 employees. One employee on coffee bar and 2 others cooking and preparing. No one ever said hello or acknowledged our existence. Walked out. The scones may be great but I’ll find another place to go that doesn’t ignore customers.
