Stopped in while passing through the area. Surprisingly quick service, good portions, and the actually the best sweet potato casserole I have ever eaten. Fried pork chops were very good also.

I will drive from the Washington, DC area 6 hours just to have dinner and then drive back home. The food is so good... I got arrested by Sparta police for slapping my mother!On a serious note - The food is great. I know for a fact the food is freshly made. The owners are up before the crack of dawn peeling potatoes and cracking eggs 6 days a week. The service is very professional and they take great care in providing the best customer service. The Brown family has been a cornerstone in the Sparta community for over 50 years and they take great pride and dedication in serving not just the Sparta community, but people from all around.The fried trout platter is to die for! One day they served Strawberry Clobbler and I thought I died and went to heaven.If you are ever in the area of Sparta, NC, stop by Brown's Cafe and promise you... you won't be disappointed.
