Passed by today on our way home from Virginia and stopped at the first restaurant that popped up on maps. Sunday brunch was fantastic! Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The service was great and our waitress was the sweetest. Will definitely be by again!

Right as i walked into Muddy Creek, we had to stand at the front of the restaurant for 20 minutes with no service. There was no where to sit or anything while we waited. Finally we get menus and my little brother gets a kids menu, coloring sheet. We sit down and they say they have no crayons so now my brother can't even do his coloring sheet that was provided. The kids menu only had 3 options of things a kid would never eat. Our table was very sticky and clearly not wiped off from the previous meal. As i'm looking at the menu i see a salad that consists of lettuce, avacados, mushrooms, ranch etc. I asked if i could get that salad with just the lettuce and ranch and they said no they couldn't do that. i was extremely disappointed because they were just being lazy. Our waitress was very rude about it. She put in no effort to make us feel welcome here. I ended up just ordering a side of fries. When we FINALLY got our drinks, the straws immediately started falling apart and breaking, they were so flimsy. She even forgot to bring my dads beer to him. It's been almost an hour since we ordered food and it still wasn't here. After an hour passed, me and my sisters drinks were empty so the waitress brought us a single half filled cup of dr. pepper. i guess she wanted us to share it. It was flat, no ice, i just don't understand where that cup came from. i decided to go to the bathroom and there was no sign indicating where the bathroom was so we went through quite a maze to find it. Not to mention, the bathroom was freezing and the toilet paper was moist and all wrinkly. Even as we were walking out, another costumer asked us where the bathroom was. After an hour, our food was here. It was extremely underwhelming for the amount of time it took to make it. The food was decent and not the best. Overall a terrible experience, do not come here unless you want to wait an hour for food that will make you feel nauseous afterwards. It took her 15 minutes to bring us our check after we finished our food. Never go here.

The Buffalo cauliflower was delicious! The beer selection was great and I highly recommend asking for their cider menu. There are tons of little shops within walking distance too.

I don’t often write reviews, but I feel it my due diligence to at least write a review about my experience here. I’m in the service industry and have been for 14 years. I know when a place is struggling and I can offer grace, vs when a place clearly doesn’t care about its service. This is one of those places. To start, the place is unclean. Upon entering, the host sat my boyfriend and I at a two person table and literally wiped the crumbs off the table with his hands before setting our silverware and menus down. That’s when we should’ve left. There were multiple tables not wiped and the floors were filthy.Service was slow to start, but generally consistent. However, my bf and I witnessed three separate groups be sat and never waited on so they just left. In fact, a table that had clearly been sitting before we were sat was served AFTER we had our waters. But there was a whole group of staff standing behind the counter?? I’m still baffled by the obvious lack of management. The food was…lackluster. I ate it considering I was pretty hungry and I hate sending a plate back but I certainly won’t make the same mistake. I ordered a $28 meal for the whole thing to come out undercooked. The steak was rare when I asked for medium-rare, granted that distinction is hard to make sometimes so I let that slide. The brussels were under seasoned and undercooked. The potatoes au-gratin were pretty tough to cut and just generally tasteless. This is something I’d serve to a toddler to introduce them to new foods.I know this is Sparta, NC and we’re not exactly a gastronomic hotspot, but I was expecting far more from this place. I’m disappointed and will just have to take my business to other places. I genuinely hope this place can make a turnaround and be a real Sparta gem, but perhaps a change in management would be a good start.

The only thing that I can say about this place is GREAT! Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and great music. Between the free music on the stage of the restaurant, and the ticketed shows that are in the back of the restaurant , you can always find some good music to listen to. The food is incredible, and I have loved everything that I have tried from here. It has a very cosy atmosphere, and the service is excellent.

The wait was a little long after we were seated but not unreasonable considering it was a full house at lunch. My husband got the black and bleu burger, I got the maple salmon salad. The food was good but the portions were small. The salmon salad was $18 which is what I would expect to pay but the portion was really small. In comparison, I regularly get the salmon salad from Firebirds and it’s at the same price point but the salmon portion is twice as big. I left still feeling hungry! My husband really enjoyed his burger but he would’ve liked for the patty to have been a little larger.

The food was great! The waitress was very kind but she forgot to put our order in with the kitchen staff. We were there for 2 hours. We only ordered 2 club sandwiches.

We showed up just before closing, we got our order in just in time. Food was good, although I went hoping for chicken salad or meatloaf.Just thankful they allowed us to enjoy our lunch outside with the dog, even served him a water bowl.

Went here for a show. Very nice venue. Everyone except the bartender was very nice. We were waiting for show to begin and I had a beer, a glass was brought but I had a koozie but was not allowed to use it. I had a couple beers during the show and was waited on by a very nice waitress. The show ended and the band was selling merchandise and people were mingling, it was a few minutes to 10, I went to the bar to order another beer but was told the bar was closed. I went back into where the band had played to wait on my husband. As we were leaving probably 15 to 20 minutes later we had to pass by the bar area and to my surprise there were people at the bar drinking beer. If I were intoxicated I could understand him not serving me but I had only 3 beers in 3 hours. Very dissatisfied in his service, other than that it is a great place.

Our party of 5 enjoyed everything from breakfast to burgers in this spot in charming downtown Sparta. Friendly, prompt service and tasty dishes. Highly recommend! And don't miss the cute Sparta Candle Shop just up the street.

In Town of Sparta for Music on Main, but weather forecast moved the music indoors to Muddy Creek's Music Hall for the Gospel group "Dedicated Men Of Zion". The food and staff are always great! If you get a chance to see this hard kicking Gospel group DO IT! They'll put your soul right where it needs to be.

We enjoyed lunch and snacks at this restaurant over the 4th of July holiday while visiting with family in Sparta. We sat at a table outside so that we could watch the wonderful 4th of July parade. Some in our party ordered lunch while we had beer, cider, and a cheese charcuterie tray. The wait staff was very attentive and our food was delivered quickly. We nice establishment. Would like to visit again at the dinner hour and enjoy the music.

One my favorite places to eat and they have great live music often. And it's just three doors down from an excellent Pottery Art Gallery.
