The prices on the menu didn’t match price I got charged. Over charged by 25% more than when I said something they said “oh the processes increased” well might want to update the menu!!

We passed this place in the morning on our way to paddle the New River and decided we would stop by to try it for a late lunch on the way back home if they were open. All I can say is, "WOW!" Prices, portions, and quality of all our meals was phenomenal. Service was great. Very unexpected find for the mountains of Northwest NC. If you are in the area, please stop by.

Although this place is called Tex-Mex, it has more of a traditional Cuban flare than what you’d expect. Awesome menu with sandwiches and some other classic options like burritos and quesadillas. The service was exceptional, the prices were great. More than enough for 5 people for under $50. Cuban espresso on top of it all! Definitely will return!

Wow we really enjoyed our lunch at Tex Mex. I had tacos I really think I enjoyed the pork be best. But they were all delicious. You could tell they were made with love. Husband had a delicious Cuban sandwich. Very nice people.

Our son just moved to Sparta in August last year, so each trip to visit him and his wife, we tried new places. Tex Mex Riverside was on the list to try. Situated on the Little River, it’s a quaint, little restaurant with ceiling fans and a few box fans blowing which made a warm day very enjoyable. The proprietor greeted us right away and took our order for drinks. The waitress brought over chips and salsa, then we both ordered the Cuban sandwich. The pork was tender, and it had ham slices that covered the cuban bread, (which is homemade and cooked right on the premises)dill pickles and cheese. There were the typical grill marks from the cooking, and arrived hot! It was just delicious! Thank you for a nice lunch!

The tacos were fresh and tasty and the service was very good. The burrito was huge and very tasty as well. Try the green and red sauces.

The atmosphere was comfortable, the staff friendly And the food fabulous . We had just gotten off the Blue Rigde Parkwat after a long motorcycle ride and were very hungry. This place fit the bill

My Husband, Me and our little girl eat here as often as we can. It is the best Cuban food ever! Oh and i can't forget the cuban coffee that is absolutely perfect. Also the smoothies are perfection. And i can't forget the black beans, YUMYUM! A little piece of Havana located in Sparta NC ❤ The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet.

We found this little gem through Trip Advisor. The food was Wonderful! Two in our party had the tacos, and I had the jumbo burrito. There was not much conversation going on because we were lost in our meals. Delicious! The family was just delightful and you could tell that a lot of love went into their food preparation. We will be back and would strongly suggest that if you are ever in the area to stop by. Also, very reasonably priced.

This is a hidden gem. We were looking for a cup of coffee and with all of the coffee shops closed we turned around and stopped in here. The owners Juan Carlos and his wife Marcella were such gracious hosts and such a pleasure to just sit and talk with. The coffee was great and the food is fabulous!! Whether you choose Cuban, Mexican or Spanish off the menu, you won't be disappointed. I had the pork chunks with pintos and yellow rice, it was the most tender pork ever and get a side of the red sauce for dipping. YUM! This will be a must stop every time I'm in town.

In town a few days on business and found this excellent restaurant via social media. My first taste was the chicken enchiladas and WOW. The chicken was moist, tender, and flavorful. It had just the right spices inside and an excellent red sauce on top. I don't normally eat that much for lunch but it tasted so good I finished it. The salad with their homemade dressing is very good. I went back the next day, deciding ahead of time to not look at the menu and just ask them to feed me. The special was meatballs and pork chunks and I asked for some of each. They graciously accommodated me. WOW AGAIN. The food is again of high quality and seasoned to perfection. You can tell they care about their guests. I'll be back in a couple of weeks and I'm already looking forward to returning to Tex Mex Riverside for lunch.

A wonderful, unpretentious family run restaurant. The owners are a husband and wife. A guest could not find a more friendly and gracious pair of hosts. The food is outstanding. It matters not whether one chooses a Cuban, a Mexican or a Spanish dish. You cannot go wrong with any of their choices. The salsa and the guacamole are both home made and get you ready for a great dining experience. This is our second visit to Tex/Mex Riverside. It was a birthday gift from my husband. I could not have received a more enjoyable gift.
