We had bulgogi and galbi and it was very good. Our waiter was friendly and I gave service a 5 because he had 3 families to come at the same time and he handled us all efficiently. While we sat down in the dining room we received a plastic fork and spoon in addition to our chopsticks. Regular silverware would have been a step up. There was no Korean ambiance except for a few wall decorations. There was no music. I think a big opportunity was missed.
This tidy hole-in-the-wall restaurant is popular with its predominantly military clientele, and for good reason. It promptly serves homestyle Korean meals that are good value for the price. The assortment of kimchi and vegetable side dishes make Nak Won suitable for most vegetarians, and the sparse bakery features Instagram-worthy but bland Korean-style homemade rice cakes. Service, like the food, is doled out Korean-style.
Nak Won has a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, which made the experience pleasant. The food was decent overall, flavors were good, but I did feel the prices were a bit high for the area and the portion sizes. It’s a nice spot to try if you’re craving Korean food, but just be aware it may not be the best value for the price.
