I ordered cheese curds to start and received corn nuggets. We had a chicken philly( meat was so hard you couldn't eat), a burger, tenders ( were slimy?), and the ribs were by far the worst we've ever had. They were so tough and grisly. I bought food for 4 and we all threw it away! Very disappointed as we had fairly high hopes.

Great food excited about the new items that you are fixing!

Love the quality of the food, variety of the menu, prompt, friendly atmosphere and service, and more than reasonable pricing! My brother always insists on eating there when he visits from Maine, as not only is the BBQ top of the line, they have a bazillion sauces to choose from, including some super-hot ones he loves. Burgers are freshly grilled, and all the sides could have come out of Grandma's kitchen.

Skip this place and eat somewhere else. It's not the barbecue place you're looking for.

Goods: Service, friendly staff, lots of sauces

Bads: The barbecue.

CJs has tasteless barbecue. The meat served all seemed old and reheated. The pulled pork when served was a white color with no real smoke flavor and the texture was off. It's comparable to slow cooker (crock pot) pulled pork.

The Ribs were also gray/white in appearance once bitten into, greasy, and not very good.

The worst part of the meal was that the "barbecue chicken" was brought out chopped up into little pieces and was also stark white with little flavor, no skin, and dry. I've never had barbecue chicken served from any previous barbecue place looking like this. Normally it's served as a leg or thigh or a whole piece of meat with the skin on.

The side dishes were fine.

This is an honest reflection of what was served today. I did not share these opinions with the wait staff because we stopped for a quick lunch to see how the local barbecue was and I'm sure there was nothing they could do when so much of the barbecue was sub par.

I should've noticed the empty parking lot at lunch time and gone somewhere else.

Well after all that driving and walking on Saturday, Tony Vanoy saw the sign for CJ BBQ in Spruce Springs so we decided to stop.

The aroma was overwhelming when we arrived and entered the building, so glad we decided to eat here! It was 12:45pm and we were both starving!

We decided to share a Platter and choose 3 meats & 2 sides...Pulled Pork, Ribs & Smoked Sausage with Onion Rings and Baked Beans with Hush Puppies and we both ordered Sweet Tea....the waitress gave us a free piece of a Apple pie they made fresh and just out of the oven.

The food was great! Loved loved loved the pulled pork and baked beans. Highly recommend

I trusted the 4.4 rating. The empty parking lot at 12 noon should of tipped me off. Ordered the brisket plate. Coleslaw, hush puppies and onion rings. Over 1/3 of the brisket was pure fat. The coleslaw was swimming in mayonnaise. The onion rings were cold when it hit the table. The hush puppies were way over cooked and hard as a brick. The ice water was perfect! Expected a lot better for a $20+ meal.
