Used to be a Top Notch place to go, but going down hill FAST!! Went tonight (and we have been regulars here for years). But tonight might be our last trip. Last few times our food has been cold, so tonight when it came out cold again, we sent one plate back, after we had waited 40 minutes, supposedly because we wanted fries without the nasty seasoning they put on them now. The cook got upset and pretty much said take it off their bill, and he refused to cook a new plate. The real kicker is, the cook refusing to remake our plate, is the owner! So much for owners caring about their customers, let alone their business! If you don't mind cold fish, stale hush puppies, and hot slaw, this place might be a good fit for you, but not us anymore.
Food was ok. Portions have dwindled in the last year. They used to serve appetizers on oval hard platters. They have done away with them and now use paper trays with about half of the contents they used to present.
They used to have good slaw but, now it's disgusting. I've heard that the owner has changed and they (owners) think the slaw recipe is good and won't acknowledge complaints about it. Most people I know who have had it recently think it's bad too. Seems like a restaurant owner would consider what customers think. If you like warm, brown slaw then you might like it. Also, the baked sweet potato is good but now, they are TINY sweet potatoes... The seafood is good.
don't eat here if you expect to be seated in a timely manner or nice waitresses o and hushpuppies! before your meal unless you want to pay extra for them
My wife and I visited the resturant and was amazed at the Quality of the food !It was delicious! the waitress was great our food was ordered and came at a timely manner you couldn't ask for better! shrimp, flounder, and probably the best baked potato ever...........hush puppies, slaw and the best tarter sauce around! can't wait to visit again
Ordered filet of flounder salt and peppered but they must have been out of salt and pepper because it was plain. Said something to waitress but she did not do anything. The slaw is awful. Nobody at table could eat it. I got a baked potato with just butter and they put sour cream on it. The waitress did bring me another one after I finished eating and was ready to leave. Won't be back.
Our server (Blair I think) was VERY GOOD. Although she was triple sat (if you know you know) she remained on top of everything.
We like going here, because it is one of the few fish camps you can eat in. The fish is good 90% of the time, sometime it comes out cold. But they can NEVER serve a baked potato or sweet potato that is done. What is so hard about cooking a potato?? I would give it 4+ if they could cook a potato...
Last couple visits very disappointing. Photo taken of tonight's dinner, fish particles. Service at carry out is good but shouldn't have let this out of the kitchen.
We had orders of shrimp and flounder for $7.25 at lunch. We had onion rings as an appetizer and the platter was huge and only $2.75. It is so nice to have choices in a side besides fries. We had baked potatoes and a sweet potato. Portions are very generous, and for not being really near the coast, this is tasty seafood. We enjoyed a large, reasonable luncheon with excellent, cheerful service.

I love the saly and pepper green shrimp and my wife loves the salt and pepper catfish fillets. The food is fried perfectly and the tatar sause and huspuppies are fantastic. Portions are generous. Also have chicken and hamburger steaks as well.
Riverside is my "go-to" place for local seafood. I always get fried seafood. They have other types and some other non-seafood items (I've heard their chicken strips are very good), but fried seafood seems to be their specialty. Love their fried mushrooms, onion rings, and jalapeno poppers. Get the ranch dressing ... it's homemade and amazing. I get takeout from here a couple times a month. Prices are a little high, but portions are huge ... easily enough for two. HIGHLY recommended.
Seated us quickly, very friendly atmosphere very efficient service made us feel like they were happy we were there, food was hot and tasted great we will return to try another item off the large menu whether you want chicken fish or beef this is your place.
Great food. Try the crab legs. Service is good and usually no wait. I haven't had anything bad there yet.
Went for midafternoon meal. All the food was great. We got combo plates for 3 of us, enough food for 6! Shrimp and fish were perfect. Sweet potatoes, hush puppies really nice. The wait staff was so friendly and accommodating. Would return when again in the area.
