We just finished breakfast at Batson's Galley and it was a great experience. We did have to wait 25 minutes for a table but there are a couple of benches outside on the porch. The waitress took our drink order as soon as we were seated and brought our drinks pronto! Then she took our breakfast order and that came out quickly as well. She worked hard to keep up with our caffeine consumption! Others were working hard to bus tables and wipe them down for the other customers waiting....read full review
Going to the beach, includes a dinner of great sea food. After being told it would be an hour and a half wait, for the highly rated restaurant across the street, we decided to give Batsons a try. There were three of us, one wanting oysters, one wanting shrimp and me scallops. The sweet waitress suggested that we order the fisherman's platter for all three of us. Amazing breakfast. Dirt cheap. Friendly folks, great service. We eat here every time we come to Topsail/Surf City. There was a peacock sitting on the bench outside eating pancakes. My wife took his recommendation, and he was right. The pancakes were great. He lounged on my hood a bit after overindulging.
