What a great little gem here in Topsail! We will be making a stop here every year we visit the island! Such a cute little place filled with lots of treasures and the owner is so sweet! She even helped one of the kids cross an item off their bucket list! ;) 🍯🐝📚e

I cannot rave enough about the baked goods and owners!!! I have eaten a lot of sweets in my life- in fact, I am probably a connoisseur-lol and everything is delicious. My personal favs are the Ginger Chews- best ginger cookie ever and the Chocolate Coconut Macaroons- oh my word- they are to die for!!! Love visiting when I come over to the island and trying new sweets. Can’t wait to finish my Ginger, Pear scone with a cup of Joe!

A very unique shop with bakery goods, coffee, tea, books and local artisans. Chai tea with just the right combination of sweetness and spice . I love that I found ginger cookies and molasses and raisins Service was excellent and staff friendly

We visit topsail often and we never miss the chance to get treats from Sugar Island. The baked goods are amazing and made with local ingredients when possible. This bakery makes the best brownies and ginger chews. I wish I could give more than 5

We had two birthdays on our beach holiday and Sugar Island came through for both of them. First we needed a gluten free chocolate cake that was to die for. For the second birthday, the birthday girl was craving strawberry short cake, which Sugar Island whipped up, giving us extra strawberries for the topping. Both cakes were fabulous!

We were at Topsail for vacation and had a couple of birthdays to celebrate. Not wanting cake, we were looking for some good pies to enjoy and the supermarket just didn't cut it. After looking into Sugar Island we decided to give them a try. Hands down the best pie I have had in recent memory. Things are a little out of whack since they do not have a storefront right now but after trading emails we were able to arrange a pick-up time. The pies were still warm when we got them! They had just been baked that morning. Amazing pies and amazingly helpful people.

We didn’t get to go in because of Covid however we didn’t need to because the desserts spoke amazing words. I will definitely be back to visit the bakery.

Couple of years ago, developed a gluten intolerance - which one of the saddest parts was not being able to eat the magical sugar island treats, though have tried lots of other things there. Just had a gluten free cookie that they made this week - encourage anyone with a gluten problem or friend with one to keep their eyes out for them - absolutely delicious!!!

We came to North Topsail for my 50th birthday and we ordered the pumpkin cake. Oh my....it was soo delicious! The only downfall was that I had to wait until Friday to eat it, but it was only 1 day past my actual birthday. We will definitely be ordering from y’all the next time we visit! 2 thumbs up!
We always go to Sugar Island when we are in Surf City and love everything they sell. This year, due to Covid, they are taking orders online for specific pick-up days and the have expanded their menu options. We have enjoyed the scones, ginger cookies, jam bars, quiche, fresh produce and more. Today we ordered the Bastille Day Lunch box in honor of the holiday, which included an iced or hot late, quiche, berries, a muffin, and crepe brûlée. Yum! We greatly appreciate their efforts to keep themselves and others safe during covid. It was very easy to pick up our order just outside the bakery. They also sell jewelry, books and more. We will be placing another order for Friday so we have treats for the ride home on Saturday!

A local told us to visit this bakery to pick up some sweets to take back to our beach rental. Well we did both for dessert and patries and such for breakfast. An interesting selection of traditoinal bakery sweets and some that were new to my group including rugelagh. Worth the trip and we also picked up some items form the market shop.
