Food is good but not overwhelming, service is just adequate. Ambiance reminds me of so many other restaurants. Nothing special.

This restaurant has been a go to sushi spot for my wife and I for the past couple of years, not really sure if it was our taste buds that changed but the food doesn’t pleas our cravings for quality oriental food as much as before, the food still has some decent flavor and is somewhat well prepared. The customer service seems worst every time we go, a complete disregard for cleanliness at times, and almost no effort to be inviting or friendly, and still the attentiveness to customers is not prioritized, surprisingly even on a slow Wednesday afternoon with only two customers in the whole restaurant. Maybe their lack of attention to customer service is seeping into the kitchen. The raw fish comes warm making it distasteful even exaggerating the metallic taste of the fish, along with making it unpleasant to the feel of one’s mouth. The shari (sushi rice) is also off temperature, tasting stale with an odd texture, and the seasoning isn’t up to par, definitely taking away from the “fresh” fish, overwhelming instead of completing the dish. Not the worst sushi but they’ve definitely fallen from grace and I still have hope for them. The soups are underwhelming and salty. If you order noodles expect them to be over done with undercooked vegetables. This used to be my special occasion restaurant, now I’m only disappointed whenever I leave. Would still recommend.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT ! One star for vibes and one for presentation of the food. The food here has no taste at all, its a joke, I guess sushi is the only thing you are supposed to eat here. When did asian cuisine start tasting like fried shrimp and iceberg lettuce together as a dish ?!!... portions were ok. The food looks fancy but don't fall for it. This is coastal carolina and people don't know any better, so you have these higher ratings I bet. Waste of money and time.Kid-friendliness: Many families eat here with their kids.

I previously enjoyed TSukiro because of their buffet deal but now will start coming to Bamboo House as their quality of food and service is significantly better. The Sashimi was fresh, ginger salad crisp, and their Kimchi Ramen was perfect! My S/O enjoyed the chicken katsu & highly recommends it. Food came out fast & our server was attentive. I was very appreciative that they swapped out a fish I'm unable to eat on our sashimi plate ( texture issue not allergies). Give it a try & you won’t regret it!
