Small hometown atmosphere with big flavor foods! Hunter was super nice. Worth the price. We'll give back.

Food and staff are amazing. Very eclectic diverse menu. Food made with love. Friendly staff. Gorgeous views of the water and fisherman fishing. The place is cozy and has a small bar. We ate breakfast here and had some amazing dishes. Definitely coming back.

Good, not great. First time visit and it was during non-preak hours ~3 PM. Sat for a while before anyone came to our table. Staff is super friendly and made good recommendations. The meatballs are good, but the blueberry on the meatballs feels unnecessary, like an attempt to be fancy. It might have been better if there were less blueberry, but it was heavy and overpowered the meatballs. Something fresh might have been better too. Tasted like blueberry pie filling from a can. The jambalaya and the shrimp platter were both good. Prices are reasonable. I know I'm being fussy, but they might consider new chairs. The heavy metal chairs on tile are pretty loud when moved by customers or when staff are cleaning.

Rather than fighting the crowds on a Friday night at Emerald Isle, we made the short drive to Swansboro after seeing so many great reviews for By the Bridge.

For starters, the location is great with beautiful views of the water. There is plenty of outdoor seating if you are traveling with a pet. Our server was fantastic. She checked on us frequently and gave us recommendations from their menu.

The food quality was good. The Grouper Bites were our favorite of the items we tried. The Rice and Beans that came with each dish were also very good. We ordered the Fried Plantains as an appetizer, but because of their sweetness, decided to enjoy them as a dessert.

For a quieter spot with a less traffic than EI, this place is worth the drive.

The service was quick fast & friendly! The drinks were great we had the Bridge Jumper & Old Fashioned. Food was awesome we had the Calamari appetizer, Island Shrimp Curry & Pork Pernil. Was so good. We’ve passed by so many times and finally decided to stop and give it a try. Now we’re mad we didn’t stop sooner. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I stopped for breakfast this morning. I have celiac and restaurants can be anxiety provoking, as not every restaurant/server/chef is knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. I am so happy to say that both the waitress and chef were knowledgeable not just about gluten containing ingredients but cross contamination as well! They explained they did usually fry potatoes in a separate fryer but couldn’t guarantee that cross contamination did not occur. I had the brisket bowl with hash browns, as home fries are cooked in the deep fryer. Absolutely delicious. They also offer gluten free buns.

We ordered 2 green tea shots, and the bartender proceeded to give the rest of our shots that didn’t fit in our glasses to the men beside us instead of us who paid for it so to the 2 men, you’re welcome for the shots the bartender gave you on our bill :)
