Every time my Dad and I go there, the food comes out so hot and fresh. The waitress was wonderful and didn't rush us.
The egg rolls were fried just right. I had the chicken with cashews. The veggies in the dish had the right crunching. My dad had the chicken lo mein. We would rather go here than Mai Thai in Jax.

I really wish I could give zero stars. I grew up here and always went there, but I’ve been gone for many years. Moved back home two years ago and definitely had to check it out. I always get the exact same thing every time I go there and it is always amazing. One time it was very old and I called and told them about it and they do not like that. Do not tell them they messed up or it’s a problem. 😠 After reading some of the other reviews, I actually feel a little bit better. Because I honestly thought that maybe they just didn’t like me. Maybe they were just being mean and hateful just to me and maybe the lady was just very grumpy because she didn’t like to see my black face when I walked into the restaurant. That’s really how I felt! But reading the other reviews it’s just her demeanor and how she is all day every day. Hateful. And every single time I walk out of there spending my money I regret it thinking. Why do I come here and let them make me feel this way?? Nine times out of 10. I have that feeling when I walk out. A few weeks ago, I decided to go back it was actually my birthday and I just got back from Florida… And as soon as I walked in, I already knew I should walk out. Her and her son I believe he is definitely talking about me And she would not come up to the register to even ask me what I wanted. I was so very mad at myself that I didn’t walk out right then because I should have. She then stepped back to allow her son to do it because she definitely was not going to do it. And so he walked over with the same grumpy, horrible distasteful attitude. And again I should have walked out. Looking at my order on the counter thinking walk out now! I don’t deserve to be treated like this! I got my order mad with myself yet again. I walked out of that restaurant, knowing full well that I will never ever ever walk in there again!!! They will never treat me that way ever again. Especially as much money as I spend with them weekly!! It won’t ever happen again. Now, when I drive-by, I don’t even look over there. They no longer even exist to me. If you are gonna have a business, you should definitely be mindful of your customers and the way you treat people. I don’t even know if it’s racism as much as it is just being hateful people. I love the food, but I will never spend another dollar in that establishment!! And after reading the reviews I feel so much better that is not just me! They should definitely read these reviews and maybe make some adjustments but honestly, I don’t think they even care!!

I was very disappointed in the food I ate here.I had the mei fun it was bland and no taste to it... no garlic no taste whatsoever it was gross I will never eat in here again ...it was take out
Who ever answered the phone was extremely rude, I was just asking if they had a menu somewhere online I can look at so we can order takeout and she hung up on me because they don't have an online menu. All she had to say was no we don't have one online and explain to me some stuff on the menu. I called back and she said well you didn't know what to order thats why I hung up, umm what? How am I suppose to know without a menu or without you telling me what you have. Maybe it's the language barrier but man seriously hanging up on people over a simple question is not good for business. As a first time customer makes me not want to come here.

I believe I have found the worse restaurant in nc. Stale. Horrible. Food. But they are proud of it cause it cost way too much. Restaurant when walk in has a bad old smell. The entire experience was horrible. If food would have been good wouldn’t have written anything. One person. 16.00 threw all away.

We always get take out from here. The only place we will get Chinese food from. We have zero complaints. The food is consistent and way better than other restaurants we’ve tried between here and Jacksonville.

I can’t do more than three stars with any Chinese restaurant around here because it is nothing like the quality and taste of the Chinese food from up north.
Some dishes here at China garden isn’t bad but I started going to other locations because their pricing has gotten ridiculous. 3 to 4 dollar difference from other locations and some dishes at other locations are better tasting. I notice the dishes here have gotten bland and almost tasteless.
They are also getting skimpy with the meats. When I get shrimp and broccoli here I get three shrimp sometimes only two. That’s pathetic!
Other places I’ll get 8 to 10 and it’s cheaper! Chicken and broccoli has little bits and shredded pieces of chicken. At least I think it was chicken. This place was a steady Chinese food location for me but no more. Thanks for going up on your prices. Maybe you have your reasons, but I have mine.
They messed up my last order also. I asked for beef teriyaki or beef on a stick I think they call it. She repeats my order and says terriaki chicken. I corrected her and said no no not chicken. Beef! Beef on a stick. I still get chicken!!
If you let them know they messed they get upset and not apologetic at all. She will yell out into the kitchen like that will satisfy me but I don’t get an apology at all. No offer to correct this or maybe a replacement. lol. Typical.
The Chinese lady at the counter is rude and absolutely miserable. I hope she sees this post and realizes she has a problem because I read the same issue on many other reviews about the grumpy rude miserable Chinese lady at the counter.
If you don’t like it here in America go back to China.
I just checked many reviews after I wrote this post and noticed soooo many people complaining about how rude the Chinese lady at the counter was. I mean I couldn’t believe the amount is complaints. I do hope someone there realizes she is ruining this business. She needs to sell out and retire maybe? Maybe she is going through some stuff??

I eat here every time I'm in the area. Not many Chinese restaurants serve sauteed sliced pork anymore. Not very crowded when I'm there.

Very friendly and local hospitality. Very welcoming environment and for traditional food (yes, they are traditional in their cooking, which is hard to find in North Carolina!) Great pricing considering how much is given, & a welcoming at home, environment. Also, my son loved that they served traditional fortune cookies, the same as I remember, no change! He also loved the traditional center placements, showing the traditional Birth Chart Years with the animal symbolism for His education! He even memorized it, & references them all, sometimes at random. Thank you for the hospitality! :)
Kid-friendliness: My son had a great time :)
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes! They are happy to accommodate, to what you wish to ask!
Recommended dishes: Fortune Cookie, Shrimp Toast
