Il Cigno Italiano offers wonderful food in a great atmosphere, right on the waterfront in Swansboro. The menu features a variety of delicious entrees, including scallops, clams, spaghetti and meatballs, and calamari with a light, delicate breading. The portions are very large, so guests recommend going hungry. The Chicken Parm is one of the best, and the specials are outstanding. The staff are very friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming, making it a perfect place for upscale date nights, special occasions, and celebrations. Many customers praise the restaurant for its excellent red sauce, which is made without additional sugar and highlights fresh tomatoes. The mascarpone cheesecake and chicken marsala are highly recommended desserts. Guests have enjoyed sitting both inside and outside, with a water view being especially nice. Although there can be a long wait, making a reservation is advised, and many find that waiting is worth it. Overall, Il Cigno Italiano provides great food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere, earning high praise from repeat visitors and new guests alike. It truly is a top choice on the coast for Italian dining.
Recent reviews show that the food remains consistently good, with dishes like the chef's shrimp pene and the tenderloin with mushrooms and penne receiving praise. The Bolognese sauce on the Tagliatelle is authentic and delicious, and the mozzarella appetizer is a popular choice for sharing. The atmosphere is described as romantic and mellow, complemented by reasonable prices and good drinks. While some dishes may vary slightly from traditional recipes, guests are satisfied and look forward to returning. Overall, Il Cigno Italiano continues to be a favorite spot for Italian cuisine in a welcoming setting.
