What a fantastic Bavarian/german restaurant, tucked away in the nice and quiet town of Troutman. It was amazing! Zigeuner Schnitzel and hefeweizen on tap. The salad was delicious too. Big portions. Friendly waitstaff. Cool atmosphere.
Came up here from charlotte for our son's lacrosse game and had a couple hours to kill before game time. Found this unassuming hidden gem (to us at least). What a treat. Great food and service and atmoshere. Totally blown away by how good everything was. Great beer selection as well.

An authentic German experience. A local favorite staple of mine. I have brought Germans and Austrians here for lunch who have stated that the food and experience here is better than what they get at home on a regular basis. I call it now, I will be the second person to complete the 3L beer challenge! April 25, 2025 is the date!

Great food and the staff was awesome. Recommend that you get a reservation if you mind sitting at the bar, it was no problem for us because the service was prompt and the owner was running the bar and was very personable.

Update-- If I'm being honest have tried a few times in the last year or two since owner changes and it just isn't same. Portions very good for price. Service great. Food is just ok now. Just nothing to be thrilled over. I know so much work goes into things so I do hate saying that but there is zero point in a review of everything is always positive. Food really isn't anything special which is a shame because it was. Cake was dry and no flavor at all. Same as 6 months ago when re-tried. Beer cheese not even luke warm. Again nothing bad. Just decent.
