I came in tonight around 6, first thing I noticed was the beautiful Christmas decorations. I loved the stockings above the bar area. Our server told us everyone made their own to hang up. Which I just think is adorable. She said she put her dogs name on hers too because he’s a honorary employee. I got the Ruben and our server recommended us getting the chips because she likes to put them on her sandwich for an extra crunch. What a wonderful recommendation because it really made the sandwich that much better. Mind you, the sandwiches don’t come with a side. And truthfully the sandwich probably would have been enough. That thing was huge. But the meat was tender, the auju they used is delicious, and the bread was thick enough it wouldn’t get soggy straight away. They make the Russian dressing in house and you can tell!! My husband and I aren’t huge eaters, but we mixed and matched our meals. And just split the chips and honestly, that’s the way to do it. Every portion here is BIG. One side to split is more enough after the sandwiches you get. Our server was delightful. She was funny, and witty, my husband really enjoyed the banter. We don’t get out much these days, and she really made it so enjoyable. If you’re ever in the Tryon area, I really recommend this place. The employees are working really hard to make this a really comfortable, warm atmosphere. I will be back!! Happy holidays! From the bartlettes :)

Neat place with a classic old brick building vibe. Fish was good, nachos also good, fries were great. Choc cake was banging! I'll try a burger next time. Service was good, but our server appeared to be running the bar too so she was busy and doing the best she could. I would go back.

I have come in here about 4 times in the last month around lunch time. And the one thing I absolutely love is that each time I walk through that door, I see Dana’s smiling face. The food is consistently good. Never had an issue, never got anything I didn’t like. I come to eat, I come back for Dana.

One, very average patty melt hamburger with a gluten free bun for $20! Nothing came with it. I appreciate that eating out is expensive now. Still, a side should be included with the burger.
Avoid this place if you're in Tryon at all cost. What was once a beautiful restaurant with great food has fallen downhill drastically fast. This restaurant appears to be constantly understaffed, and the food has zero consistency other than the fact that it is consistently bad.

We’ve had several visits now, and each one has been fantastic! The House Salad and Turkey, Apple & Brie sandwich with fries were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, that sweet and savory mix is perfection. The Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli was pure comfort food, hearty, home-style, and beautifully seasoned.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with attentive service and consistently great food. Brooks Tavern continues to impress with every visit!

We’ve enjoyed every meal here so far. The cocktails have been really great. And we love the buffalo chicken salad and turkey sandwich. Everyone in our family had been pleased. The hostess that we’ve encountered could be a little nicer but our servers have been very pleasant. Definitely will continue to patronize this place.

Where do I begin? First off I came in yesterday afternoon. This sweet girl named dana was by herself. Literally running to make sure everyone in the restaurant had their food, had drinks, sat people, bussed tables, took Togo orders, I mean.. everything. And not once did she give a bad attitude or be short. She treated everyone with such positivity, was kind, was making jokes, just an all around super star. At one point the entire restaurant was full, and she’s slinging cocktails for our table, and they were some of the best I’ve ever had. She told me to get the southern fried chicken sandwich, and recommended my husband and I split it since we’re not big eaters. Thank god because when she brought out that sandwich, the piece of chicken was covering both buns. She even accommodated and brought us a second bun. Because it truly was big enough to make two sandwiches. It was absolutely AMAZING, I would make a trip back up this way just for that sandwich. Her memory? Outstanding. If I was her yesterday I would have been in tears. Whoever hired her, fantastic choice. I will be back. Thank you Dana for going above and beyond for my family during such a high stress time. You are truly one of a kind. (If you’re to ever read this, don’t ever doubt yourself. You rock!) Oh, and the food, FABULOUS. The drinks? PHENOMENAL.
