Walked into restaurant and a cockroach ran in front of us. We had to crunch it. Waitresses came out and picked it up.Menu was NOT the same as online, she laughed and said it had not been updated in a long time.Very sparse on the lunch menu and the fig salad was very pricey. The Brussel sprouts were so small and the bottoms were rock hard. Her attitude came off as stand offishWe will not return

Best salad I ever had. And I’m a salad person. The location is ok, but th3 food was wonderful. Fresh hot bread, excellent other dishes, our server was great. The chef came by to check and asked sincerely what we thought. This restaurant cares what we like. Well be back.
Best food you’ll ever have!! Wonderful staff and service

Went in on Friday, Jun 30th at 2p for a quick lunch. Two very snarky servers told me they closed at 2 on this day rather than 3 "because the weather was going to get bad". Must have meant the weather somewhere else as the forecast is not calling for bad weather. Plus, why is a primarily indoor eating establishment is closing early because of bad weather? You be the judge as to what really happened here. Lazy (and rude)!!
Something is wrong. Two couple in a restaurant in a Saturday night and one of those was us. Severely overpriced for what you get. Was just ok and nothing to write home about.
Ok place. Had lunch. A fig and brussel sprout salad was $18. Way overpriced. It was good but really? Server was stoic and totally disinterested. Plain surroundings, but if the food is good, that's not a problem. Try it, but I can't recommend.

Stopped by since we were visiting the area for a family reunion and saw this French restaurant online. Food was nostalgia of French cuisine and enjoyed every bite. The escargot was on point and very flavorful. I had the lamb shank while my wife had the pork. Both were fall off the bone fantastic. Had the Creme Brule for dessert and it was very good. Ended up coming back the next night and tried the shrimp linguine and also didn't disappoint. Small menu BUT highly effective since they can concentrate on the flavor and texture. Highly recommend trying this place out. You will not be disappointed! Safe to say we'll be stopping by whenever we are in Ashville!

I have had pretty good experiences here in the past. However, today I was with a friend who has celiac disease who was served a meal with gluten. He asked prior to ordering about which options were gluten free and the waiter confirmed several options that were (supposedly) gluten free. Part way through eating his meal, my friend realized there was gravy in the dish and asked the waiter what the gravy was made of - flour (which contains gluten). He shared that he has celiac and he cannot eaten and the waiter didn’t apologize or really offer any solutions. Eventually we asked whether he could bring another dish without gravy and he agreed. There was no apology ever offered and I believe we paid for the item (we didn’t make an issue of it). I don’t usually leave poor reviews, but this actually going to make my friend feel ill for several days so it seems pretty egregious. I get that they don’t necessarily bill themselves as super GF-friendly, but misinforming the customer and making them ill is totally unacceptable.
The food here is fantastic!! Happened to stumble upon this place looking for dinner on our route and could not be happier with the result. We had French onion soup, the escargots, lamb shank, the pork shank and the crème brûlée- everything was wonderful. Both meats were fall of the bone tender and the soup had a perfect rich broth. Highly recommend you eat here if nearby (or take a detour if you aren’t!)
Incredible as always, dined on Saturday night, service was impeccable. We had escargot, salad, moules frites, and chicken entree…all were spectacular. Merci!

It was not only the best Latte, but it was a server by the name of Molly! What a delight. Customer focused and smile to match. This is where restaurants can miss the mark, on wait staff. She was amazing. We visited twice during our stay and even had her attend us one night at Marengo.
J'adore La Gaule! We love this restaurant-the staff and food is excellent! They are friendly, accommodating, and the atmosphere is easy and refined.(We do wish the amazing bakery selections and lunch time hours will come back to this location!)Excellent wine selections!
A disaster - bad start: "waitress" under age could not serve alcoholic beverages - the garlic shrimo ( 6 at $@ ea ) in a tasteless no garlic tasting oily 'sauce". mussel in wine sauce ( some watery greenish broth with FRENCH FRIES - had to ask for bread - 6 thin slices of a baguette about dollar size,, what a sad way for a valentine's "dinner".
This place is amazing. The atmosphere is spot on. It makes me feel like I was in France at a local restaurant. The staff was very friendly. I have a service dog, and the manager was telling me that they are dog friendly and love dogs. The wine selection is pretty good. The list was not overbearingly long. It made picking the perfect bottle of wine easy. The food was delicious. I had a light pasta dish, and she had the fish. We split a chocolate mousse dessert that hit the spot and wrapped up a wonderful evening at an awesome French style restaurant. Will highly recommend. And will definitely be back.

I am a vegan. I was there with a group and prefer not to require a group to accommodate my preferences. The only dish available without meat, eggs, or cheese was the marinara pasta on the children’s menu. The wait staff rudely refused to allow me to order it even though I offered to pay for an adult portion. The restaurant served beautiful dishes to my meat-eating friends, but I could not understand their refusal to serve me food that was not only on their menu but most likely already prepared in the kitchen as well.
