My parents and I loved eating here early this month.

Excellent food and friendly service. I was looking for a place that served something more than the usual kind of sandwich fare and this fit the bill! The ham and brie panini is delicious. I wouldn't describe it as tapas as the name suggests. There are full entree options and appetizers if you want. I'm only in town for a week and have already visited twice.

We had a delicious dinner at Marengo recently. Love their new extended menu, lots to choose from. The ahi nacho appetizer was superb and we enjoyed the truffle fries. My husband's lamb burger was well cooked and he enjoyed it. My ham and cheese panini was quite good, loved the sauce (tho over toasted on one side). Service was exemplary. Love people watching at a table looking outside. We will be back again. Glad they updated menu! If only I had room for dessert, it looked scrumptious.

I just want to say this place is sooooo good!! I usually get the garden griller ( I cant remember if that's the exact name) and one waffle with berries because I can't just have one or the other! And every staff I've encountered was great. I love the open seating outside by the water fountain and I noticed they have an outside bar too for those interested

So very disappointed in the menu. There was a large selection on the website but a notice that the menu was changing soon. There wasn't a menu at all, only a piece of paper which a very limited selection. And they were also changing out their wine so not much to choose from there either. I hope things pick up for them this summer.

First time we went to this place last night (a party of 6), first of all, they did not have a drink menu - we had to ask and guess on what beer or wine to ask for and the waiter was pretty unsure of anything they might have. Then, no appetizers menu and the regular menu was so weird - mussels with French fries?? And I mean, that was all that entree had - mussels and French fries. My friend requested mash potatoes instead. I had the scallops and linguini - scallops were not grilled nor seasoned - they actually tasted like small lumps of pasta and the “wine and cream sauce” was so watery and bland I could have drank it with a straw! But the WORSE entree - 2 in our party order this - was the “Moroccan” Brisket with mash potatoes……both spend most of their time digging out chunks of fat……as they “hunted” for the brisket. Needless to say, neither of them ate it. Then came the question of dessert - again, no menu and the waiter wanted us to just mention possibilities to “see if they had them”……but the WORST letdown was the completely empty pastry and chocolate delicacies display case that Cafe De Gaulle was famous for (supposedly this place is owned/fashioned after that now defunct eatery). Needless to say, this was THE worst “dining” experience we have ever endured!!! Two words: DON’T GO!

Truly an amazing establishment, best restaurant on Tryon main street. Food is fresh, flavorful, and made with a lot of love you can tell. Amazing variety of wines. There is something there for everyone. Love both their brunch and dinner. Probably the best omelette I have had anywhere in my time. If you get the pleasure of meeting the chef and owner, she is an incredible woman with a passion and love for cooking and serving amazing food.

Where has this little piece of heaven been all my life! I am Miami/Fort Lauderdale transplant to NC and I have been to numerous places both in Florida and in and around NC, all pale in comparison to this little but exquisite restaurant. Had the Crepes Susette and my sister had the Eggs Benedict. Both were superb! I highly recommend eating here, even taking a side trip to Tryon just to try the fare! Had an opportunity to meet the owner and chef. Truly a culinary experience. Make it a destination next time you are in the area.

What a slice of heaven right here in the foothills. Little hamlet, Tryon NC, how fortunate you are! A huge bowl of exquisitely prepared mussels in champagne and cream sauce with a salad and French baguette for $22. Fresh made linguine with mussels and shrimp in cream sauce $23. There was easily twice the amount of seafood in both of these dishes than what most restaurants would provide at twice or more the price! And, the quality is what one would expect only in the finest French restaurants in the biggest cities of the world. All of the amazing pastries are hand made on site. Enjoying great cuisine is one of our favorite hobbies and we have traveled the world on this endeavor. This is the third time we have enjoyed Marengo and I would stake our reputation as culinary snobs to state unequivocally that Marengo is one of the very best, a five star gem hiding in plane sight in the heart of rural NC.

Visiting Tyrone briefly and stopped here for a coffee. Very glad we did. Restaurant is well appointed. The owner served us and was delightful. The crepes, however, were magnificent. Sweet and savory, a real taste of home in Europe. Absolutely superb and a must for anyone living within 25 miles of Tyrone NC!
