Food is good. Service was good. Did not know it was a private club. Charged $20 for me and told I would need to buy my husband a membership if he came with me more than a few times. I saw where someone was only charged $10 a week ago. And another was given the option with no pressure to join at that time. I guess it depends on who you are and who is there when you go?

We had a ball at McGourty's! On a long weekend anniversary trip, we visited Tryon, NC (lovely town; we will be back). We dropped in to the pub a little early and had several pints of draft Guinness, delicious chicken nachos, and a great club sandwich with handcut fries. The Guiness temperature, freshness, pour, and even glasses were perfect! The nachos were fresh and crispy, and the toppings were perfectly balanced (we added pickled jalepenos to our order--perfect). The club was awesome too; I was even able to have it on rye. The deli meats and cheese tasted like Boar's Head, and the handcut fries were excellent. McGourty's is an unpretentious American take on an Irish Pub. Great place!
