Spent a cozy January vacation in Wake Forest and this place was a true highlight. Warm, inviting, and full of the vibe of a village pub gathering spot. Impeccable service, total pros. Crowd was all ages, everyone so kind and friendly. Fantastic live music on Thursdays. Cute wallpaper in spotless bathrooms. Most of all and best of all: THE BEER. Just perfect classic styles along with trendy stuff, all of it gorgeously well-made. You can feel how much the owners and staff love this place. And now I do too! Can’t wait to visit in summertime.

Wish these didn’t look so sad this time around, but their taste is phenomenal and service is just as great as we remember.

Great spot but way too many kids! Fine for a nice day outside for them to play, but indoors has turned in to more a daycare than brewery. You’d make a lot more money on beer if the adult ratio was higher even if just on inside section. Last night small children outnumbered adults 4-1 leaving no seating for those actually paying for beer.

This place is awesome. We love coming here and sitting outside and enjoying the fire pits in the colder months, or the lawn when it’s warm. Everyone who works here is friendly, and the beer selection is great & always changing. Bathrooms are so lovely & clean! Also a family-friendly vibe while still being a place for adults as the parents that come are usually very mindful.

Your store is throwing a Halloween party with your customers, but the rest of us neighbors are trying to enjoy it, too. Why we always have get ruined by you.
We’re being forced to listen to that awful live music — it’s nothing but unbearable noise!

The beer served here is amazing!! However, the staff is what really makes this place special! Deke, Kenne Brad and crew have become true friends!

Blackbird by far is the best brewery in the Raleigh area. There is always a new and creative beer on tap and they have unique wine options. The staff are genuine and it feels like you are hanging out with long time friends when you come in. Kenny and Darren are knowledgeable, attentive, and are just a great time. The passion that Darren has for craft beer is equivalent to his love for Arsenal FC. Finally, we love Deke!

You go to a craft brewery expecting good beer. Maybe a pretzel the size of your head. What you don’t expect is to meet bartenders like Darren and Kenne.

Together, they don’t just pour drinks; they orchestrate evenings. You can walk in after the kind of day that makes you wonder if humanity was a mistake, and by the bottom of your glass you’re laughing, talking to strangers, and remembering that maybe people aren’t so bad after all.

Darren pours a beer like somebody’s grading him from the shadows with a clipboard and a whistle. Kenne, meanwhile, has mastered the art of nodding wisely while you explain your life story after two hazy IPAs, then dropping a one-liner so sharp you forget what you were sad about. Don’t get me started on that lovely baritone voice of his… warms the soul.

The beer’s excellent, sure, but the real secret ingredient is whatever cosmic buddy-cop energy Darren and Kenne have going. Somebody should bottle that—though I’m not sure the world is ready.

It’s a strange thing when bartenders remind you that the world can still feel like community, that someone can hand you a pint and in the same motion hand you a little bit of hope. That’s not on the menu board, but it should be.

So yes, the beer’s fantastic. But it’s Darren and Kenne who will sneak up on you, make you laugh when you weren’t planning to, and maybe—just maybe—leave you a little misty-eyed on the way out.

Five stars. Would recommend for both the ambiance and the unexpected emotional growth.

Kenny and Darren are the best! If you want an awesome English-man who pours a fantastic drink, and gives a sparkling smile as he hands you your beverage of choice... you are in the right spot! Kenny is a familiar face that knows your drink AND your name, and gives a feeling of familiarity and a likeness to all! I love this dynamic duo behind the bar... drink slinging and a great report with mingling! Come see 'em!!! We love 'em!!! You will too!

Let me tell you Kenny and Darren are amazing!!! I have never had bartenders like them before anywhere. They know exactly what you want when you walk in the door…it’s like walking into a Cheers. You know…where everybody knows your name. They are very personable and all around great gentlemen.
