In the past, I highly recommended and enjoyed Bodegas Tapas. However, during my recent three visits (dining room table and bar most recently tonight), I encountered subpar service and disappointing food quality.
Tonight, the bartender initially took our order without any prior inquiry. She took our drink and food order but never returned to inquire about our enjoyment of our beverages and meals. When we received our dessert we immediately addressed our concern about the texture, the bartender abruptly asked what we wanted done about it without apologizing. She then handed us our bills and stated, “Well, folks, drive safe tonight.” Well I guess the restaurant doesn’t really care about its repeat customers.

Favorite place for lots of corn free and gluten friendly menu options. The goat cheese mushroom dip is to die for.

Bodega was the perfect date night spot. From the moment we walked in, the service, atmosphere, and food were absolutely phenomenal. The space is romantic, warm, and cozy… intimate without feeling cramped and honestly, it felt like we weren’t even in Wake Forest anymore.
Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. You can tell so much thought goes into the menu, from the tapas to dessert. The cocktails were just as impressive and paired perfectly with the food.
The staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable without being overbearing, which really elevated the entire experience. It’s one of those places where you can slow down, enjoy the moment, and actually feel present.
If you’re looking for an elevated, intimate dining experience whether for date night or a special occasion this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back.

Great restaurant with great food. Server was very good. Being New Years Eve, a $50 deposit was required, and charged by Open Table; no problem and was reflected on our check as a credit. Open Table also applied $4.00 ish tax and a $10 tip. Neither of these were reflected on our check. I do not think this was a restaurant problem.
We enjoyed our NYE at Bodega Tapas. The cocktails were superb as was the service and the small plates. Our server was so attentive without being intrusive - so appreciated. The whole evening was a wonderful experience!
Great selection of Tapas in a cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was great. The Kinchi Broccoli and Serrano Ham, along with the Ravioli, were favs among the table.
Had a lovely evening at Bodega last night, made extra special by our server, Mary. She is a superstar! Also, portions are generous, very tasty and we were able to taste the wine before deciding what to drink.

We love tapas! Service and food always on par. This time just a bit disappointed as checked birthday event and stated wife's birthday in comments and no mention or acknowledgment that it was her special day:(
We felt very rushed throughout our dinner. We had 8pm reservations and they announced around 9 that the kitchen was closing so make sure to get your orders in soon. Keep in mind that this is a tapas restaurant- so it's all about the experience and you don't order an entree to be one and done. Then at 9:30, it was clear they wanted the patrons to leave. They were moving chairs around, taking candles off tables and turning bright lights on. We were trying to subtly ask the waiter to put all of the wine on our bill and the waiter acted like it was such a huge inconvenience to do this in front of the table and then the table insisted on splitting the bill evenly which is what we didn't want to do. The food was good and we ordered more than the waiter recommended and still left hungry. Also, the portions were not transparent and it was awkward sharing some of the items across 4 people (one example - the empanada). Not a great first experience and this was recommended by friends.
Bodega is probably the best restaurant in Wake Forest. The ambiance is great created by low level lighting and individual lamps at each table that also function for reading the extensive menu of international small plates. We had 8 of those and all were excellent. Don't miss the goat cheese dip, the lamb meatballs, and the Peruvian chicken. All 3 desserts, the crème brûlée, the pecan pear tart, and apple cake were all excellent. One in our party of 4 ancestry is Croatian and he loved the wine from there. Service was fast and efficient. With this amount of dishes the bill with tip was upwards of $200 so may be a special occasion for some but worth it for the quality and ambiance.
This place was great. If you like to try lots of different things that all taste great, this is the place for you.
