Really good food and super friendly staff! My only complaint is I am legitimately unable to eat french fries anymore (which I used to love!!) and have to pay extra every time to get a small side salad to substitute.

Every time I come here, the food is absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. But what really makes the experience special is the energy behind the grill. The “grill guy” (I wish I knew his name!) is a total rockstar. You can tell he puts so much care and passion into what he does, and it shows in every bite. He’s always working hard, focused, and serving up delicious food with a vibe that keeps you coming back. If you haven’t been to Charlie’s yet, you’re missing out. The whole team is awesome, but major shoutout to the grill master—thank you for making every visit amazing!

We usually frequent the other Wake Forest location, but stopped into the Capital Blvd. location for a quick bite, knowing we like the food. We were unable to enjoy our meal as one employee (not sure if he was a manager, the owner, or what) was loudly belittling another employee the whole time we were there. It seemed like the employee getting berated was new or maybe training, but it's never ok to treat employees that way. It was extremely disrespectful, as he (the abuser) was making it seem like to the customers in line that he was being inconvenienced along with us because of this new employees actions. Very untrue. The one getting barked at was extremely nice and professional. We will no longer stop in and will avoid the other location as a result of this unacceptable behavior.

Very good food! I got the Habibi platter with steak, hummus, tzatziki, and rice. Beef was slightly over my preferred doneness and could use a bit more flavor. The hummus and tzatziki were delicious. I want to go back to try more things on their menu because it all looked so good. Definitely recommend.

Yes, there is a Charlie. Perfect order just as you would get when you walked in there. He is passionate about quality control for food quality and portion size. I do not know these people. This is not AI. Just give this place your Wake Forest business. If you don’t experience the best line I did, call and let Charlie know. He seems to care about his business. I think it is two locations. Heritage and OG WF on Capital Blvd north of HWY 98.

I loved this restaurant, it’s been one of my favorites in the area. The quality has been better than any similar place I’ve been to. Over the last several months they have gotten much more inconsistent, especially in terms of the meats. We always ask for medium rare on their steak and when it is cooked right it’s amazing. About 60% of the time though it arrives either well done, or charred (past well done). For the price of the food, I would expect the quality to be great 100% of the time not 40%.

Hands down the BEST gyro you will ever have! I compare every other gyro I eat to Charlie's gyro and nothing matches it. The tzatziki is out of this world (but don't plan any meetings or dates after because you are gonna be garlicky! in the best way lol)
Charlie is the kindest man and has always been a bright spot in the Wake Forest community!

Excellent food. Finally a place in the area that knows how to make falafel! Every other place I’ve tried here has made small dried out balls. These were really good, as was the baba ghanoush. Husband and son enjoyed their gyros as well. Now the reason for the 4 stars- got to my son’s place and realized his gyro was missing. Took a while to get through on the phone and we had to drive back there to get it. The young men working there were very polite and apologetic but the manager (owner?) was there when we came back and he just handed me the sandwich with a thank you. I think he could have done more. We were really pressed for time since I needed to get the food to my son before his online course started. Getting it to him late was not optimal.

Excellent kebabs. Moist and flavourful. A good selection of Mediterranean dishes. Clean and comfortable setting. Good service.
