I went to OTF for lunch. I have been to this place for meals before, and although the food is never great, this time was likely a new low. First, upon entry we were greeted by the intimidatingly unhappy hostess, who diligently took our name, and told us to wait OUTSIDE. While I realize this is a like fire hazard, waiting outside for 20-30 mins is just plain unacceptable. There is no reason, as busy as they are that the ownership cannot have outdoor heaters, or other solutions for the elderly who have to sit there freezing. This is likely the worst form of service I’ve witnessed. Oh don’t forget the ‘I don’t care’ attitude. It is also notable to mention the posted time limit of 90 minutes. So if you’re planning longer- go elsewhere. Apparently tariffs have taken hold at OTF. A plain hamburger and fries $17.95, a fish fry special, a lunch special for $19.00. These prices, low quality greasy poorly prepared terrible food, and garbage attitudes all make this a must- miss experience. I was embarrassed that I suggested it, and my only real thought is, if you care so little, I’d recommend you just close for good.
From the warm and enthusiastic welcome to the all important “thank you for coming” Over the falls proved to be over the top. Our server was professional and engaging. He took the time to guide our choices through explanations and recommendations. I had the Pesto Parmesan flatbread with added chicken. It was amazing. The presentation was art and the flavors were oh so good. My husband had the Beef of Weckzel, which is one of the most popular. He raved about it. It was served on a warm pretzel roll with horseradish sauce and a warm au jus. My father in law had a pastrami sandwich which he loved, and my sister in law chose the Cobb salad. It also had an artful presentation. The ambiance was inviting and charming. We will definitely return on our next trip to Wake Forest. A fabulous find. Thank you to the staff.
Attached is a photo of my review and the owner’s ridiculous, dismissive response. This place doesn’t care about its customers at all, profit matters more than people. Stop feeding their greed and avoid this restaurant completely.
I enjoyed this little spot. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. This was a last minute dinning decision. However, we had to waiters (shift change) and they were both great! The tables were nice the lighting was dim which created a nice ambiance. The food was good. I ordered a steak quesadilla. My only con: the tables are a little close together.

Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight quarters and they're really busy so they likely can't move much

Went for weekday lunch. There was a 15-30 minute wait. I was with my mom who just had surgery and clearly was using a walker, but the hostess seemed as she didn’t care. There was no seating for the wait except outside at extra “tables” where it was windy and cold.
Wheelchair accessibility: NOT. Only a couple of handicap parking and then you have to maneuver through the tables on the sidewalk. Used walker- still difficult and no where to wait for disabled patrons.

Frustrated! We have always enjoyed Over The Falls and supported them all through Covid take out and tipping. Food has always been amazing. Lately when we have gone in, just the two of us usually between 2:30 and 3:30, they have not allowed us to sit in a booth even though we asked to. Guess they are saved for larger parties? I can see at peak times but not when we go and during the week. Last time the hostess explained and offered us a table of our choice. The booth was empty the whole time we were there. Yesterday we asked again, the hostess said Can’t sit there, threw the menus on a small 2 chair table and walked away. I am sure they don’t care but we did not stay. It is too bad because we like to frequent independent restaurants and not many in Wake Forest. We have now discovered a few in Franklinton. They have done a nice job with their downtown so we have other options!
Great night with friends
