Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q

This is one of those eatery places that excel in customer first professionalism. Since I eat for a living I can tell you I've been to this location 37 times within the past year. I've come all times of the day and their high service level is consistent on all shifts. So, here's the breakdown:

Cleanliness: There is no such thing as a dirty table, floor or restroom. Someone takes pride in helping to present a welcoming clean place to dine. Now normally I don't give hi-5s for doing what you're supposed to do like keep your place clean. However, this place goes way beyond the call in a great way.

Food: The name says Chicken & Barbecue but there is way more there than just those 2 features. Don't misunderstand me, the chicken isn't just smoking mouth burning hot (southerners love to burn our mouths when we get good food), it is also cooked to perfection. The Barbecue is the Carolina addictive stye. Listen, I have seen a lot of seniors stuffing themselves with some of SC&B's best. I know some of them just have to chase this goodness with some blood pressure meds.

There are dogs for the little eaters, desserts for the sweet tooth (or dentures), sides for all plates types and lawd, MOMA THEY GOT HUSH PUPPIES!!!

Service: Not everyone likes to smile. Some other eatery staff don't even want customers to come in. NOT HERE! The staff here great you when you walk in. When you get to the counter to place your order, the staff members treat you like they showed up just to serve you.

Cook Line: (New entry for our review team) The Wizards on the cook line are paying attention to every order especially any special requests you may have. When you get your order pay attention to how exact they served it up. Impressive!

Summary: If you stop here once, you will make this a regular stop for great food in a great place.

Today I never , never ever been treated like I don't matter when I always came to this location for my large office gathering. The young guy that was running the cash register today 12/23/25 at 12pm was very rude and act like I wasn't even standing there after I picked up a very large order for my employees Christmas luncheon. He didn't give me all of my order each time I ask about hey where this or where is that he had an attitude, stop helping me and started helping the guy at the register. Ignore me and told someone else to help me, I got a very racist vibe from him. So if this is the kinda people that yall have working for you then I will just take my $ somewhere else. Also will spread the word to others , this was not fair at all.

The food was not good- it was dry and the chicken was old. The night manager was really rude and short. Like he didn’t have time . We just said forget it and left. And the only reason the service got 3stars was the young man who worked the counter was really helpful and respectful- the manager needs to take some tips from him on customer service. And the atmosphere was just calm and the restaurant was clean just the food was nasty.

Whenever we come to Wake Forest my husband always wants to come here for the chicken and the New Brunswick stew. Today we were helping my parents move some stuff around for a remodel and my mom went out to get our regular order and they gave us 8 pieces of chicken instead of 12. No big deal, we all make mistakes. However, my Dad went to collect the extra chicken (we had some tired, hungry kids) and the manager offered to deliver it himself!! He came over with a BRAND NEW order of 12 pieces and some extra hush puppies. Amazing food and incredible customer service. Smithfield's you have some happy, full customers today!! Thank you so much!

At the Wake Forest location tonight it took 40 mins. to get our order and then half of it was missing. This is the second time recently that everyone seemed confused on what needed to be done.
Smithfield's is normally one of my favorites but recently you've been a disappointment.

Used to be one of my favorites. It’s getting terrible. Wait times are insane, inside and drive thru. If I order drive thru, my food is always wrong. If I go inside, the wait is insane, can’t win for losing. If I ask for my food to be double checked in the drive thru, either they don’t do it or get attitude. Just say in the drive thru 15 mins. Last time giving them chances.
