Dan River Family Restaurant

I used to eat breakfast there almost every weekend and quit going for a long time because of the inconsistent quality. The staff are extremely nice, and a month ago I started going back. The breakfast has been awful. They actually put on my plate, burnt black toast. Other diners asked for unburnt toast, I just pushed mine aside. The fact that they would even send that out of the kitchen was alarming. The dealbreaker for me was takeout a week ago, I had popcorn shrimp with fries and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had, half my fries were undercooked and still frozen/cold inside. After 2 bites of shrimp I threw it away. Had a bad old/burnt oil taste. Great employees but consistently really, really bad food.

We ordered breakfast from there and it was all NOT edible. The biscuit was mushy and still just dough. The bacon we ordered crispy was barely cooked, the hash browns mushy and not finished.. just over all terrible food. We couldn't eat any of it.

My husband and I were visiting from Kentucky. We stopped to eat breakfast, trying something local. We ordered, about an hour later, they tell us they messed his over easy eggs up. So they bring the rest of his food out without the eggs. I had to go ask for those 10 mins later. They still only brought him one. My meal came with a pancake, I never got it. Staff was nice and tried to fix it, but it was not a great experience. Especially having to wait so long.

Food is pricey! Fries where soggy and under cooked..

Grill chicken salad was very good!

Nice people but crappy food. Meatloaf sandwich special was meatloaf and two slices of dry toast, no condiments or toppings. Sad food.

Will definitely be coming back. My son took us there to eat, and was very happy with the friendly service, the great food, and one of the friendly employees making sure I didn't come back to South Carolina without my phone. ????

Food was not good at all after waiting 30 minutes to get the food some of it was not worth eating definitely would not recommend this place to nobody McDonald's is better if that tells you anything...I will say the waitresses was very nice but if I was them I'd definitely find another place of employment.....oh and by the way when we got there there was 3 people eating and 2 waiting for their food so 5 in the restaurant total before we got there just fyi
