Yes the place is very nice and the staff is very polite and very nice especially the owner Roseanne love her. The food is very good highly recommend. My kids love this place.
What is this place?!?! Took my 91 year old momma and my hubby to eat today (Sunday). Arrived around 3:30pm. Drove over an hour and a half to get there. We had never been there before-there is no clear indication to the entrance to the building. Once we figured out how to get inside and were seated in a booth we were asked what we wanted to drink, hubby:sweet tea, momma:decaf coffee, me: Diet Pepsi. Waitress: Diet Pepsi will be $1 more. I said “ok”, then waitress said “I’ll have to “make” the decaf coffee”, I said “ok”. She came back with a styrofoam cup of sweet tea, a styrofoam cup of ice a CAN of Diet Pepsi and later a cup of INSTANT DECAF COFFEE. (Momma was NOT impressed. After that long ride, I needed to potty-went to the ladies room and let me tell you something…..well truly I have no words….there are ZERO doors on the bathroom stall openings!!!! Only pieces of fabric (likely home sewn “curtains”) but just hung straight to the floor. No way to secure them closed for privacy…whoever came in just “peeped” in the curtain to see if that stall was occupied. WHAT!?!? Then the food came-it is a “family style” all you can eat restaurant. (I use that term loosely) They brought 3 pieces of COLD fried chicken (a leg, a thigh and a wing), 3/4 measuring cup of COLD mashed potatoes, 3/4 cup COLD canned green beans, 1 cup coarsely chopped cole slaw, 1 cup canned cooked apples, some kind of white gravy, 3 - 2.5” pieces of COLD ham, 1 measuring cup of what they referred to as meatloaf (it too was COLD with a TON of ketchup on it), 3 - 2” squares of cornbread, a whole cake. That so called meatloaf was nauseating! I would say it was either raw or pureed! The texture made me literally want to vomit! I couldn’t eat or look at the food after 2 small bites! Oh! Almost forgot about the 1/2 cup of pintos that were also canned and COLD. Now keep in mind-the portion sizes mentioned were to feed the entire family of 3!! Finally there’s the cost……it was $84.24!!! NO TIP LEFT! But here’s a TIP for them-cook homemade home cooked southern food!!! Bring it to the table HOT! Bring it in family sized portions! Make it WORTH $28.08 per person!! We will NEVER go back nor recommend!
Great country food, friendly staff, well worth the visit.
Been hearing about hillbilly hideaway for 12 yrs finally decided to go last night for my birthday weekend and see what the hype is all about got seated quickly but took 27 mins to get sweet tea 18 minutes to get food then chicken so greasy you could ring the grease from it ask 3 times for chicken breast good thigh and leg green beans way to greasy and salty cornbread and hoe cake cold and hard ribs had so much sauce on them couldnt taste them cole slaw was awful make some southern coleslaw with mayo only thing good was the apples and mashed potatoes the red velvet cake was hard and not appealing for 78.00 I believe I would rather get a McDonald's burger and I hate McDonald's but atleast you want be disappointed
10 out of 10 recommend!!! Great EVERYTHING!!!!
So very grateful to the owner and staff for bring back the delicious foods that grandmother made those many years ago. We were quickly greeted at the front door by a most gracious owner and shown to a lovely clean table. The wait staff had food on our table before we could un-role the napkin around the silverware. The chicken and fish were freshly off the fryer. The vegetables were perfectly seasoned. Fresh bread right out of the oven. The dessert was yummy. The tea was refreshing. The music hall on Saturday was filled with talented musicians. Will be back again and again. Thank-you!
I have always enjoyed each visit here! The bread and fried chicken are my favorite!! Staff always friendly!
Went there for the first time. It is will hidden but well worth the drive. The staff is friendly and welcome you in the make you comfortable. The food was home cooked style. The only problem is when you leave you are so full you need a nap.
Way over priced. $28.50 a piece for my wife and I. $69.95 total including tip and desert

A friend took me there for the first time. I was very impressed with everything. The staff was very attentive and nice. The food was great. I have to admit I want to keen on the slaw though. And the atmosphere was almost honey. Can't wait to go back.

This place is the last of a dying breed of restaurants. This one seems to be going downhill too. I used to love this place and was glad to see it was still around. However after my last visit I won't be back for a while. The food has really fallen off and for the price it is just no longer worth it for me. Cost is about $25 a person plus drinks and tip, Its a long drive out through the country to get here. They are usually welcoming when you get in, but last time I was here they sat us in a corner then never came back to check on us. The teeny bopper girls they have working here know and care nothing about service with a lousy attitude. Drinks went dry and we were without food while they milled around and talked to each other and other guests. The food was cold and honestly only mediocre at best. Bathrooms are horrendous. Worst I've ever seen in any business. Only 1 working while I was here in a tiny cold back area that is about 1 step above an outhouse. Just pathetic. With the prices you charge I expect more. Not worth it.

This place is amazing. I try and go here every Sunday, either before or after church. They work like a buffet with a set menu and everything. You get served what's cooked for dinner, breakfast or lunch (just like how it was at grandma's). Don't worry about what you get because you can bet $100,000 it'll be good. Mainly soul food with a dessert platter of your choice (dessert does add $10 to your bill if you get it, and it's normally around $20 per person, kids eat for $10, I think. That's why I only gave them 4 stars for food). 10/10 would highly recommend if you're in the area!
The service is amazing too, wonderful people and employees. They will tend to your every need (even though all you'll need is someone to carry you out after your finished from all the food you'll have eaten).
The atmosphere is also a wonderful, it has a log cabin, homey feel. You'll truly feel as if you've stepped back into time to grandmas house and are eating a homecooked meal by the woodstove.
The only downside I can think of is the fact they're only open on the weekends.
Vegetarian options: There is no vegan/vegetarian options. Yes, they do serve vegetables as sides (and yes, you can reorder it as many times as you want, like a buffet) but they are as stated, sides. They probably won't fill you up.
Parking: This place is normally packed every weekend, so come early, or good luck finding a parking spot!
Wheelchair accessibility: They are not very wheelchair accessible as the only real way in is through the steps on either side.

The people here are really nice and are happy to sit you. I was not the biggest fan of the food. The ribs were falling off the bone but heavily coated with BBQ sauce, and we're mediocre at best. Fried chicken was also just okay, I mostly ate the vinegar based Cole slaw and mashed potatoes. I went with a group of 5, with 2 kids, and it was about $114. A little overpriced for the general quality in food. I will say people are really sweet. Even the owner welcomed us while we were at our table.
