Went there for the first time. It is will hidden but well worth the drive. The staff is friendly and welcome you in the make you comfortable. The food was home cooked style. The only problem is when you leave you are so full you need a nap.

A friend took me there for the first time. I was very impressed with everything. The staff was very attentive and nice. The food was great. I have to admit I want to keen on the slaw though. And the atmosphere was almost honey. Can't wait to go back.

This place is the last of a dying breed of restaurants. This one seems to be going downhill too. I used to love this place and was glad to see it was still around. However after my last visit I won't be back for a while. The food has really fallen off and for the price it is just no longer worth it for me. Cost is about $25 a person plus drinks and tip, Its a long drive out through the country to get here. They are usually welcoming when you get in, but last time I was here they sat us in a corner then never came back to check on us. The teeny bopper girls they have working here know and care nothing about service with a lousy attitude. Drinks went dry and we were without food while they milled around and talked to each other and other guests. The food was cold and honestly only mediocre at best. Bathrooms are horrendous. Worst I've ever seen in any business. Only 1 working while I was here in a tiny cold back area that is about 1 step above an outhouse. Just pathetic. With the prices you charge I expect more. Not worth it.

This place is amazing. I try and go here every Sunday, either before or after church. They work like a buffet with a set menu and everything. You get served what's cooked for dinner, breakfast or lunch (just like how it was at grandma's). Don't worry about what you get because you can bet $100,000 it'll be good. Mainly soul food with a dessert platter of your choice (dessert does add $10 to your bill if you get it, and it's normally around $20 per person, kids eat for $10, I think. That's why I only gave them 4 stars for food). 10/10 would highly recommend if you're in the area!

The service is amazing too, wonderful people and employees. They will tend to your every need (even though all you'll need is someone to carry you out after your finished from all the food you'll have eaten).

The atmosphere is also a wonderful, it has a log cabin, homey feel. You'll truly feel as if you've stepped back into time to grandmas house and are eating a homecooked meal by the woodstove.

The only downside I can think of is the fact they're only open on the weekends.

Vegetarian options: There is no vegan/vegetarian options. Yes, they do serve vegetables as sides (and yes, you can reorder it as many times as you want, like a buffet) but they are as stated, sides. They probably won't fill you up.

Parking: This place is normally packed every weekend, so come early, or good luck finding a parking spot!

Wheelchair accessibility: They are not very wheelchair accessible as the only real way in is through the steps on either side.

The people here are really nice and are happy to sit you. I was not the biggest fan of the food. The ribs were falling off the bone but heavily coated with BBQ sauce, and we're mediocre at best. Fried chicken was also just okay, I mostly ate the vinegar based Cole slaw and mashed potatoes. I went with a group of 5, with 2 kids, and it was about $114. A little overpriced for the general quality in food. I will say people are really sweet. Even the owner welcomed us while we were at our table.

Reminiscent of the now defunct "The Homeplace Restaurant" in Catawba, Virginia (as far as food style, service style, and tableware -nothing matches). I was there on a Saturday night when the meat choices at the table were country ham, fried chicken and ribs. The ham was a little too dry and salty for my liking, but the ribs and chicken were quite good. The potato's needed some seasoning (but you do have salt and pepper on the table) and butter would have made them really good. The apples were quite tasty as well...the rest of the food in my opinion was just meh. I plan to visit on a Friday and Sunday as well at some point (1 hr 45 minutes is a bit of a trip) to try their other food choices.
