With the passing of owner. I can tell you you could not get any better bbq in town. The place was clean food was hot and smiles all around. If they close this business it will be missed. But old bill won't be there to do the cookinf.

Down home cooking. Best fried chicken I ever had. Turnip and collard greens were just the best. The friendly service is worth the drive. Out of the way places are so much better than the chains.

I have had wonderful experiences here over the years. In early April 2023, I was able to visit Duplin after about 4 years. I told my family I wanted to take them to Blands for a good home-cooked meal. We arrived I think about 10:30 AM on a weekday. It appeared food was being put out and prepared for the warming stations. A woman came out to prep the tea. After 10 minutes of no one acknowledging our existence we left. Later we realized that it was transition time from breakfast to lunch. Why not just say that and we can feed you at 11? We had a good meal at Wafflehouse instead. My feelings were really hurt that no one bothered to greet us or say a mumbling word as I wanted to support local business and have a bit of nostalgia.

Worth the drive from hwy 40. ( just 3 miles) food and service is excellent. The fried chicken was the best.

their hours are weird. i didn't really like the staff either, i felt like they were rude & in a hurry. their breakfast is ok & decent pricing.

2 for breakfast. It is home cooking. 1 order french toast, was barely warm, could have cooked a bit longer, 2 scrambled eggs, should have been whisked more to fully mix and bacon, tasty. 1 order pancakes, large plate size hot and good. 1 sausage and cheese omlet good size and tasted good. Hash browns could have cooked longer. Clean inside. Bathrooms clean. Waitress was friendly. Wasn't very busy so would think my plate could have been hotter.Parking: Enough spacesWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs can fit inside the restaurant but not through bathroom doors.

The tea is sweet and the people are sweeter! Loved the barbecue sandwich. Certainly is a hidden gem

Stopped in today on way back to Cary. Unfortunately had my son's dog so could only get takeout. Wife and I both had BBQ sandwiches and they were some of the best we have had. Very friendly workers. We will definitely be back to sample the other offerings on out next trip down east.

Super nice! Old school vibe! Workers were nice. Inexpensive family meal. Would come again. Great half way point between Raleigh and the beach.
