I ate lunch here and was very happy with everything. The staff was incredibly welcoming. I asked if the salsa verde was made fresh or was from the bottle and they were happy to share they make it fresh! It had a perfect blend of ingredients including onion which complimented the slight heat.
For my meal, I chose the carne asada which is the skirt steak (not the tacos) and is the standard in which I base my opinion on all my Mexican restaurants. It came out quick and everything was made fresh. It tasted great and wasn’t overcooked like some places do. What I liked about it was that it included a piece of nopal (prickly pear cactus) which was also delicious.
All in all, I really enjoyed the meal, the atmosphere, and the service. This made my top 5 list for best asada. 5/5 would recommend.

Our family LOVES El Vallarta. When we moved to Waxhaw, it was recommended highly by a local. Being from Arizona, we were missing our Mexican food here in NC. This place does not disappoint. We have never had a bad dish there. Chips and salsa are also on point. Always order the sizzling carne asada fries for an app. You will thank me silently at the table. Street tacos are amazing, burrito loco is the husband’s favorite, and my daughter adores the enchiladas. Go there and make your tummy happy.

We've eaten here a few times. Got the burrito and fajitas last time and everything was delicious!
Today i got the chicken and rice soup, take out, because I'm not feeling well and I was not a fan. They used the same rice that they serve with the dishes so it was really soggy. It wasn't well seasoned. The chicken wasn't shredded, or seasoned. It was just hunks of chicken breast. Not a fan.
Got 3 street tacos. Only the buffalo chicken one was actually good. The steak was really tough with a lot of fatty pieces and I think it was a BBQ one that was terrible.
Also got a chicken quesadilla. This was probably a bad choice for take out but it was super soggy by the time we got home and also not well seasoned like the fajitas are (which is literally 0.2 miles). It was edible, but not great.
I had dinner at El Vallarta in Waxhaw, and the food was outstanding. We sat at the bar and ordered a margarita, and the chips and salsa came out quickly. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the corn ribs. It was very unique and it was delicious. For my meal, I had the carnitas and the pork was so good. My only minor disappointment was that there was no bartender, so it was slow to get drinks. If you are looking for good Mexican food, El Vallarta is a great place to eat.
