I don’t have any photos or videos, but this was SOOO good. We were here at Saturday around lunch and the place was pretty quiet, but the service was impeccable! They made a mocktail for our oldest with fresh berries and with perfect amount of sugar (not too much, so you feel real taste of berries and freshness). Adult cocktails were also very elegant and so well made, with a nice touches. And the food is worth the while separate review. We got few items from the kids menu - no crumbs left, and all the rolls for adults were just perfect balance of every taste. We had a few of the special rolls along with few items of classical. Not too spicy (the wasabi can easily add up for you if it’s needed), not too sweet or salty. No regrets about any of the choice - bagel towne, kiss, tux, gunsnroses. We loved the interior, the dishware and cutlery, and would be glad to come back here for birthday or maybe one of their special nights. So worth a visit!

Kid-friendliness: They have cups with lids, had apple juice, fresh lemonade, great kids menu and very friendly and helpful servers

I recently visited this fantastic restaurant, and I was blown away! Not only do they serve delicious Japanese food, but their hamburgers are also incredible. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The variety on the menu is impressive, making it a perfect spot for everyone. The staff was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for a unique and delicious dining experience!

This place is amazing! My husband and I each ordered The Blank Space gin cocktail and it was so delicious, fresh and beautiful. He ordered the burger and said it was the best burgers he’s had in a long time. I had the Kiss speciality roll and it was amazing! Really fresh ingredients all around. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere is really cool. I highly recommend trying this spot!

Last evening, I had the privilege of dining with my business partner at Kin Steak and Sushi, and I was thoroughly impressed. Having previously worked in New York City, where part of my role involved hosting high-profile clients at top-tier restaurants, I can confidently say that Kin Steak and Sushi stands out among the best. It feels as though this establishment was transported directly from NYC to Waxhaw, NC. The freshness of the fish and the exquisite presentation truly set it apart.

We also had the opportunity to meet the owner and engage with their exceptional staff. The combination of outstanding cuisine and a welcoming ambiance made for an unforgettable dining experience.

Sushi is incredible! The Def Leopard and the Hall & Oats rolls are the epitome of how fun the menu and atmosphere is! The pickled vegetables are off the charts great that are part of the sushi-cuterie board.

There isn't a large sushi menu selection here. Your better off at Ming Fu. Mixed drink prices were alittle higher than normal. Overall it was an okay place. Staff focused more attention on a group of folks they knew that entered the restaurant than us for dinner so we chose to eat and leave instead of order more food.

Did not appreciate these people misleading on the appointment book and scheduled hours. On google they display wrong hours of operations and even allow you to make reservations online when they in fact are closed . Got the there for a bday brunch - with 6 other people just to find the doors closed .

A new gem in Waxhaw. Offers a wide range of choices, all yummy. We split the double fried chicken, my friend raved about the sushi, the slider burgers with miso slaw was perfection. Will try one of the yummy handcrafted cocktails next time. Two thumbs up!

Update: Gave it another shot and food was MUCH better than the 1st as noted in my original review below. This time we had the guns-n-roses roll which was our fave, Styx roll which was very good and the AC/DC roll which was our 2nd fave. Not a fan of the crab Rangoon’s as they are different than what you would expect as there is no cream cheese in the filling just straight minced crab. Would not order again. Miso soup was also very goody. Serbians atmosphere still highly rated. We will be back!
Original review: Food was subpar at best. Nirvana roll was very small and the shrimp tempura inside was extremely small, way over fried to the point of dark brown and crunchy, the thin filet slice on top was gray in color, the sweet potato inside was very dry and the whole roll was very bland. The combo entree of filet and scallops was small, filet was not tender, scallops were cold and the vegetable medley was just green beans that were soggy and some had stems on them. The dumplings had a good taste but were very oily, small and you only get 4 of them. Everything is way overpriced for the quality and quantity. Disappointed and surprised by all the 5 star reviews. The service and atmosphere are the only redeeming qualities.

Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking and ramp right in front of restaurant and easy table access to accommodate a wheelchair.

Overall we were a little disappointed. We had high hopes for the new spot, but it fell short.

Has potential, but needs to improve. We were excited to try a new sushi spot or any good new restaurant in this area. Went for early dinner (5ish). Started great. Edamame with peppers and chili sauce was great. Drinks were solid. My wife really enjoyed her "Maria Maria" (hibiscus margarita).

Unfortunately it went downhill a bit after appetizer and drinks. They have four items listed under entree. My wife was excited to try the braised short ribs. They were out. They apparently had run out of short ribs for the weekend on Friday, so that was disappointing. She ended up going with filet & salmon. She described the salmon as fishy and overcooked. She enjoyed the filet. I tried the Nigiri Chef's Selection. I also wanted to pair it with sake, so I looked at options from the menu and google'd sake reviews. I'm not a sake expert. Ordered sake. They didn't have the sake. Strike 2 on ordering stuff of the menu to try. Took it as a sign I didn't need another drink and just went with water the rest of the way. The Nigiri selection was OK. Lacking presentation, explanation or description of the chef's selection. Just 8 pieces on a plate and here you go. It wasn't bad. The tuna didn't seem fresh, but it was OK. I wouldn't go with that option again. I would probably try a roll that highlights other flavors than just the fish.

Not sure if we'll be back.

Food here was amazing, I got the 8oz filet and the taste was out of this world. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly to my liking. The sushi here was great too with wonderful combinations of flavors. All the fish tasted very fresh.
