Was super excited to try Cupcake Queen but was quickly disappointed when we walked in and got smacked in the face by all the Fabuloso. We did purchase cupcakes but even 20mins later when we went to try them, even the icing tasted like Fabuloso. Very disappointing for a $4 cupcake.

First time ordering a cake from the Cupcake Queen. Very easy from ordering all the way to pick up. The cake was gorgeous and exactly like the picture I showed them. I will definitely use Cupcake Queen for all my future baking needs.

Excellent service. Ready on time. Looked exactly like the picture provided. Beautifully decorated and tasted great! A very happy Sweet 16!

This place needs to stick to cupcakes. Please run don't walk if they are recommended for a wedding cake vendor. Our cake was a hour and a half late. We needed to cut it earlier than planned because it was falling over. We purchased a cake stand that we couldn't even use because the cake was too unstable to move. And if all of that isn't enough the cake was not what we payed for. The colors completely did not match our color scheme we asked for gold design she gave us silver. She pretty much made up her own design which was not the design we asked for. She didn't use buttercream icing. We acted for champagne flavor cake and we got dry sponge cake. Her cupcakes are extremely moist but it does not translate into her cakes. We reached out to her about our dissatisfaction and she didn't even have the common decency to apologize to us this is our wedding cake. Horribly customer service and delivery of a product. She basically took our money and did what she wanted to do not what we paid her to do. Honestly it seems like she did our cake last minute which left her with no time to complete it the way we Paid her to complete it. For sure the worse part of our wedding.

The Cupcake Queen made another fabulous cake for our celebration this weekend. We asked her to design a 3-D cake to highlight a family business. She exceeded our expectations yet again!! Everything is so easy, from ordering to pick up! All it takes is a short description and sharing of images to get the cake you desire. I can't wait for the next BIG family birthday party to order another special cake. In the meantime, I will be heading there for cupcakes.

I love supporting local businesses, so I was excited to try The Cupcake Queen. I got the S'more, and Plain Jane. They were awful. The frosting was grainy and coingly sweet. The cake itself was dry and tasteless. We actually threw them out, and at $7.00, that wasn't easy to do. As nice as the owner is, we will definitely not be going back.

We’ve purchased cupcakes several times and all have been great. I loved that they aren’t overly sweet.Several months ago we placed a special order for red velvet cake pops for a birthday party. When I went to pick up, they had the wrong date down (I totally understood how the mess up happened). They only had chocolate pops readily available. Her celebration was the same day so we took chocolate although my daughter isn’t a fan of chocolate. The owner was very apologetic and gave us extra cake pops for the mix up. And surprisingly, my non-chocolate loved daughter liked them too! While I do think prices are higher, we aren’t getting supermarket quality baked goods. This is a bakery with bakery prices (and not to mention, Waxhaw business rent prices…. ). The brownies are huge and sweet and can certainly be split between 2-3 people.I don’t remember having anything at this location that has been bad or that it wouldn’t get again.

I ordered and purchased cupcakes for my daughters baby shower. We had not had any of their cupcakes before and wanted to support a local business. I gave them the theme of the shower (baby woodland animals). The cupcakes were plain ugly, with red clay & forest green colors. And they were the driest cupcakes we had ever eaten. I will not go back.

I am a huge supporter of fellow local businesses. So when our daughter showed us a photo of a simple designed sprinkle cake with a smiley face for her 13th Birthday, I finally had the excuse to order a "custom" cake from The Cupcake Queen. I also expected it to look like the photo I downloaded on the businesses website because that's what you expect when you order a "custom" cake right?First photo was what we asked for and second photo is what I picked up on my way to set up for the party. When I told the employee at the register that it wasn't quite right she took it to the back to where I assumed a quick fix would happen and I'd be on my way.The owner/baker/artist came out herself instead, holding the cake and insisted on schooling me on how she "cannot make the cake look exactly like the photo provided because I do not know the source of the design and it isn't my original".It's a smiley face.Yes, just a smiley face. For a girl who hasn't had a party in years because of Covid and just asked for a simple smiley face cake. She brought the cake back out with an icing smiley face on it in the color of beige, like the chocolate icing that was inside. That's fine and all, except it was invisible against the sprinkles.I had to go and quite frankly wasn't prepared to be confronted in that way while picking up a cake so I let it be and left with my beige smiley cake. We had a laugh at the party when I told the story,so I guess it wasn't a complete loss.Communication was key here. If you don't really do custom cakes then you should let everyone know on your website while placing an order, BEFORE they pay, what you let me know upon pick up and after I already paid. Your pride in original work is appreciated, however it isn't what everyone wants all the time and you need to give the customer the option to choose you or not while knowing what they may or may not get.We appreciate honesty.

The custom order for 65 red velvet cupcakes for my daughter & future son in law's couples shower were a total hit! Everyone loved the design, the light chocolate taste, airy texture, and about the icing - oh my goodness, everyone raved about it - it truly was out of this world! Fantastic first experience using The Cupcake Queen, I would definitely refer her to anyone and I'd use her over & over again if I was from or resided in the area of Waxhaw NC! 5 stars for sure!*****

Literally did a happy dance while eating my cupcake. I’ve never had a cupcake so moist, flavorful and baked to perfection! Had the mixed berry and lemon blueberry cupcakes. They were out of this world good. Will definitely be back!

Overpriced cupcakes. Frosting was hard as a rock and the cake (of which there was very little) was flavorless. How they stay in business is beyond me. Don’t waste your money.

spent over $25 for two cupcakes and a brownie. The cupcake I had was uncooked in the center and the cake itself was very dense and lacked flavor. The woman there also tried to school me on what Red Velvet was. Its a type of chocolate cake dear!!! no need to argue why would you with a customer? The woman was unwelcoming from the start and quite bothered she had to help us. Why are you in business? I love to support local small businesses but I cannot recommend. You can make delicious cupcakes at home for a fraction and be more satisfied.
