Chapala Mexican Restaurant

Chapala Mexican Restaurant was a great find! The beef chimichangas were delicious with a generous portion. We were seated right away, and the food came out fast. The warm chips and tasty salsa were a perfect start. Great service, yummy food—I’ll definitely be back!

This place is literally so awesome. The staff were super friendly. The food was super fast. The place was squeaky clean and they just went above and beyond made us laugh. It just felt like almost at home. I wish you could rate higher than five because they deserve a 10.

So this was a mistake. Hadn't been in about a year.. Nothing was good. I make better carnitas than this place. Steak in the chimichango was tough and chewy. Carnitas were not crisp on the outside like they should be. Was lacking any kind of seasoning. They took them off the bill. Handed it to us saying they were sorry. Then the manager comes over with a new receipt and takes the old one. They charged us for the more expensive item,the one they comped,and took the other less expensive item off. Come on ...
It was like 2 dollars difference. Tacky.....That will not make or break a restaurant. Shitty food will,not to mention our server was lacking in any kind of enjoyment or enthusiasm about his job. Plus he forgot several things.... Forewarned......

Got the shrimp quesadilla and it was disgusting. The cheese they used is processed. Please don’t take shortcuts - use real cheese!

I ordered the burrito Weaverville but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was supposed to have shrimp steak guacamole sour cream and hand-cut fries inside. The fries were on the side and they were definitely not hand-cut they were basically Frozen crinkle cut fries that were actually underdone. The burrito was okay I guess, but I've certainly had much better .

The room we were seated in had to be around 80 degrees. When I asked if we could turn on the fans because it was warm I was repeatedly told that it isn't hot, it's actually cold, until finally the fans were turned on. We then received a dirty glass with a bug in it, never received some of our ordered food, and both food orders that were delivered were clearly wrong after a long wait. When I asked for the rice that came with the meal I was told it doesn't come with rice so I grabbed a menu and showed where it says it comes with guacamole salad or rice. The waiter then actually said "yah ORRRR SALAD"...which was also obviously not on the plate, and would have been incorrect if it was.

Garbage service & food. My water had a bug in it and the inside of the cup was dirty. We ordered a cheese dip and it never came. I ordered my meal without beans and it came smothered in beans. My husband ordered his meal with rice and they didn’t bring it out. They didn’t bring out napkins or chips until we asked. I would give it zero stars if I could. Our server was absolute garbage. Will never return or recommend and we warned people as they were entering about how terrible it was.

The taco salad was delicious and the lunch chimichanga was perfect size. The queso was terrific on the chimichanga. Our server was very attentive to refill our chips and drinks.

Took forever for our waiter to get to us. I can understand if it has been busy, but it was not. Our order finally came out, but it seemed as if the waiter had forgotten it as our food was cold. To make matters worse I think the waiter must have been drinking as he had to come back twice to remember our order. I have came here three times now and will never come back again. Everything was sub-par. Definitely not what you would expect in comparison to the other Mexican restaurant in the area. Do yourself a favor and pick somewhere else to fill your belly.
