My wife and I went for lunch to this Steak & Shake for lunch today. Upon arriving we discovered that it was closed with chains across the entrances and a security camera sign. Upon getting home we went online to see if its website was still up (It was). However, there was nothing mentioning that it was closed. What the heck is going on with this place?

I've always liked them but today was a paper thin peice of meat! I will call and complain. They gave me a lot of french fries which was good. But if that's all the meat they can put on a steak burger they need to take it off the menu!

Yo how uneducated are y'all? Hours never accurate, why y'all closed at 7 pm on a Tuesday but Google says y'all are open? Incompetent is hardly the word. Absolutely disappointing and outright appalling. The Asheville area would be better off without a steak and shake, given this is the poor excuse of one we have. Franchise owner must be a first timer. I've never ran a restaurant but I could do a hell of a lot better.

It was pretty good. There was not as much garlic on my burger as usual. Also didn't get any straws, napkins, or ketchup. We parked on the side of the building when we got to the door we realized it was exit only. We walked around the building to the entrance to see a sign saying dining room was closed. Would have been nice to see that on the other door instead of walking around.

Love their shakes, I asked for Cajun fried didn't get them got small tiny fries but they're great anyway. They can't obtain employees to work, so they'll probably close, running drive thru only apparently but at the drive thru...the guy is really helpful and happy.

Disappointed. The staff were friendly and doing a good job but the food isn't worth it. I got a bacon double steak burger and like others have said the patties looked like it was run over by a pavement roller. Way too thin! Almost as thin as the bacon, of which there was about a third of a strip on it.I would venture to guess that the 2 patties total weight was about 2oz. Before cooking. That's an 1/8 pound and it's a far reach at that.

Not sure why they can't adhere to their own hours of operation. Twice I've drove here and they were closed... I live 45 mins away!

I used to patronize this place, but only the drive-through. One experience inside (when they were open inside) was terrible. Slow service, rude staff and manager. Drive-through was okay usually, but depending on the mood of the staff. They've reduced the number of items and the quality is far below what was once offered. Many of these units have closed throughout the country, and this location has the deteriorating service suggesting it will not be open in the future either. In any event, the quality is low and the staff do not seem to like their jobs and blame the customer. I avoid it, there are too many other choices to patronize that are friendlier and better.

NOT A GENUINE STEAK 'N SHAKE!!!First and foremost, if you are a fan of Steak 'n Shake normally, steer clear. The food is similar but you will be overpaying significantly for staple items.Secondly, the Steak 'n Shake website recognizes the location but online ordering has been disabled by this location and the menu is not accurate in prices or options.The location was drive-thru only at the time of writing this: The menu in the Drive-Thru is not up to date, there is no corrective signage either. Person who took the order continually claimed that combos did not include drinks even though their menu stated otherwise. Prices did not match up at all with what was ordered.Spending 20 dollars on three items and a single drink is outrageous and not the norm for Steak 'n Shake. Avoid at all costs.Something changed in the last couple months. This was not our first visit and we were quite excited to return to this location. Shame it feels like we were actively scammed by the management here.
I wish I could give 0 stars I'm so disappointed I orders 5 meals and only gotbfor 4 of them and 2 were wrong, so I went back to try to have them fixed and was met with super rude condensing behavior, I try my hardest to be super polite to people especially in the service industry, this lady that took the order comes to the window and just has attitude all over her she was being rude to me which got my husband and and she proceeds to just get worse, slammed the window in my face and then had me pull around for for rest of my food which they still did not give me all of and she just threw it on the table. I won't be back which is sad I really enjoyed grabbing a burger after having to be in Walmart.Sonic has way better service anyways

We’ve driven by several times and the dining room was closed. It was excellent before the pandemic, great food and service. Never met the manager/owner but from the reviews she sounds like one in a million. If she would learn how to act around people maybe more people would want to work there and she could open the dining room.

Horrible customer service in the drive through, if you close at 10 why immediately say in the rudest voice possible "go ahead with your order we're not doing any milkshakes anymore." There could have been a much nicer way to say that, i know working in the food industry can be stressful and irritating, but you are at work, hide your attitude. whoever is on headset on 11/12/2021 at 8:35 pm, hide your attitude at work or quit your job, it's that simple.

The absolute WORST cheeseburger EVER!Usually they are great, but this one was cold including fries. We had to drive through 2 times to get our order correct.DO NOT Eat here at this location!!!!!!
