My husband and I were visiting Asheville for our anniversary and we had our cute pups with us so they can have fun on the trip, too! We’ve never been to this place before nor have we heard of it. So we were excited to visit. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment and disgusted. The staff that worked there was not only rude but he embarrassed us.
We tried to explain him that our dog was a little nervous bc it was a new place. Our outgoing one was already off the leash and was playing. But, the shy one took a minute to adjust. As we was getting ready to take her leash off, the staff yelled out if we didn’t take her leash off, we had to leave. Granted we were even there for 10 minutes.
We took her leash off and let her and her sibling play and we left. After this experience, we will never go back.
This is an outdoor partially covered wonderland for dogs and humans!! Seriously if you are in Asheville or coming through 26 from TN, it’s the best spot to let your dog play and take a driving break! I’m local and I love Tuesday Trivia Nights.
We passed by Wagbar on our way to our Airbnb and just knew we had to visit. So many happy dogs playing, my dog was anxious to join everytime we passed by. I love that they take being up to date on vaccines serious. We were greeted by what I called the "Welcome committee" consisting of 3 huge golden retrievers. Got inside, ordered a few drinks and set Stash free. He was right away accepted into the group of dogs playing and shown around. Not only were all the dogs friendly and very social, but their owners were as well. Great conversations were had. Absolutely recommend this place. The employee working that day(can't remember her name) was amazing with the dogs. She took notice anytime the dogs were "bored". She would come out and entice them to play around. Hilarious seeing the regulars reaction to her approach because they KNEW what was up haha! Can't wait to visit again when we are in town.
AMAZING! We took our dog for the first time today and he had a blast! All of the dogs who enter are required to have proof of current vaccination and owners must actually keep an eye on them. It makes for an awesome environment! All of the dogs were great and our boy Mustachio made SO many new friends. We will definitely be returning the next time we're in the area!
Lots of fun for friendly pups!
Recommend!
Could this be the best bar in Asheville? Local crafts beers, dogs, lots of fun activities and meet ups...what more could you ask for??? The staff is great too!
We’ve been taking our dog Fenrir to Wagbar for about 6 months now and we both absolutely love it! Great way for him to get used to being around a variety of dogs and people. And it’s great for Fenrir’s high energy! He always sleeps well after a visit to Wagbar. They also have an amazing selection of refreshments! And super friendly staff. So happy we live so close by!
My pups and I had a wonderful first experience, even in the rain! Everyone was super friendly.
A wonderful place to go for beers with my family as their dog ran and played with a bunch other dogs. Professional and friendly staff. I wish we had one of these in Monterey.
Super friendly staff and they all love dogs. All the people we met were super friendly as well. My dog had a great time.

Literally the best place I take my dog to hang out. I can’t say enough about this place in a review. But it’s more than a dog bar. It’s a community where you can meet like minded people. All of my best friends in the Asheville area were met through this place. Great people. Great times. Highly recommend this spot!
Love it. Love there. Staff is friendly and attentive to the dogs and the folks.
Our doggo had so much fun. Great play space, great dogs to play with. Beer was good, folks were friendly and accepting.
Some lady’s dog bit me while I was eating and all the staff did was laugh with the owner of the dog and make very dismissive commentary. The dog clamped down and wouldn’t release with the owner nowhere to be found. Had to ask for a first aid kit and they didn’t even have a bandaid
Delicious Cuban food, good beer interacting with the dogs running around having a great time = great time.
A little warning two people who don't love love dogs: they literally run around you're your sitting at the table eating... they will beg and if possible to jump on tables that are empty. I did not mind but some people might.
