Last fried chicken plate was too salty to eat. Chicken and vegs. Today got a chicken filet sandwich on moldy bun and customer service was terrible. The lady at the window was talking through a closed window and I could barely hear her and she wasn't friendly at all. I don't plan on going back.
Breakfast isn't great I've given this place many chances, biscuits are dry as the Sahara desert. Bbq is very inconsistent, ive found it to be dry or overly saturated and very salty like its 3 days old. Hardly any meat on the sandwhiches. the only thing ive found this place does well is fried chicken, they do fairly well with that. Too much going on, keep it simple concentrate on the staples and perfect them prior to making egg rolls, flat breads and other stuff.

This restaurant has great and friendly employees. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is very homey like the ol country store vibe to it.

The customer service and the front end staff was very welcoming. The food was delicious, didn't have to wait long for our food. You could either sit in the dining room area or outside in the famous what they call hog pen. The music that was playing in the restaurant over the speakers was just some good old oldie goldies. Definitely plan on making this a regular stop. The owner is very down to earth and willing to help anybody I saw several people come in and it was just like a big old family...

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon. Hoping for a plate of good barb b que What I got was chopped up chewy pork. This place is not a good representation of NC bar b que. But now I know plate made it to the trash can about one minute after giving cashier 9 bucks.

It' been a while since i ordered from Shaw's. For me i am juz glad it's still around...however my opinion or view point is tainted maybe even biased for i remember it from long ago- when it was behind the old Red & White Super Market. .I was a young kid then maybe not even in my early teens. In my early seventies now..so even though my memory is still good i admit time does change things...Shaw's really didn't have a store front back then. Maybe sorta like a garage or something...it was always wrapped up in a kind of butcher paper....off - white tight...Sometimed it might be warm...we would take it back to the farm house on the Bailey Road & maybe make sandwiches on loaf bread or juz eat it plain....an occasional hog hair or piece of skin you'd have to pull outta your mouth... It's taste was always consistent which was good. But that was in the 1960's. Everything has changed since then. That's the natural order of things...back then everything was a bit more home cooked...not quite the same today..maybe it could be better...maybe on some days it is... it's hard to keep a good thing going but if it's good it's worth the try, worth the effort... Let's hope it stays around a while longer...for everybody's sake....

I bought a fish and shrimp plate. The fish and shrimp were so over cooked the flesh was hard and dry. I have yet to try the BBQ, but I will.
The staff was very friendly.
