Imagine being taken back in time to the 1930s to an old time oyster bar, with no frills, but wonderful fresh, local seafood and the best service you’ve ever had. This is Sunny Side Oyster Bar!
This place is an institution, having started business in the 1930s. We took some friends from WV there. As they stood outside, waiting for Sunny Side to open, they wondered if I were crazy taking them there. Leaving, they apologized to me and said it was the best seafood they’ve ever had!
Love this oyster bar!
Maryland Oysters the size of golf balls. Scallops any way but fried. Crab legs steamed perfectly. Very accommodating staff. One caveat-Shrimp (very tiny) looked like it came from a bag.
Put it on your bucket list.
They have amazing food and service!!!
My shucker was the best. Shout out to Mr.Griff
Friendly staff, and the best oysters!
Had an amazing meal here with family and friends. My 7 year old’s first time trying oysters and he loved it. Staff were warm and welcoming. Will be back soon!
The stars says it all!
Great seafood and loved the history of the restaurant.
Third time I tried to go and closed way before the closing time they posted unreal
Always love visiting this establishment. The food, service and atmosphere are great. One of a kind place.

Had a wonderful experience with our 1st time ever going!
I'm stuffed. The food was good/great and while I'd love to tell you about the freshness of the oysters or how I thought the shrimp were fantastic, I'm just left with... I'm stuffed. Not in an all you can eat buffet way, but that we had a ton of amazing food.
Great local place for steamed oysters. Get here early or be prepared to wait; however, they have a large bar area to grab drinks while you wait for a seat at the bar. For most, that is part of the experience. Limited menu of mostly oysters, shrimp, and crab legs, and all steamed. If you are looking for something else go elsewhere. The shuckers/staff are all great. Truly a local institution. If you are passing through or in the area during oyster season (months with an “r”)it is definitely worth the trip.
Always delicious. Staff is awesome
Great atmosphere
