Great breakfast… and that’s all they do. My wife had corned beef hash and fried eggs with grits and a grilled biscuit. I had eggs, fresh thick link sausage, home fries and a biscuit. Just what you would expect from a country cafe. Hot, tasty and served by excellent waitresses. All for less than $15.

Today it’s hard to find a restaurant with BOTH great food and service, City Cafe has it all! Everyone is friendly and efficient, very busy place but you never felt like you were ignored. Family friendly.

This is a good restaurant for so so breakfast, but not a good place for lunch, the food at lunch taste like it was from a can all the veggies. Breakfast is kinda good at it's best and is a local hangout so to speak, you can't really screw up breakfast, bacon, sausage it taste like it was a patty frozen in the box, eggs were like they had a lot of milk added to stretch them, grits most of the time are good, but sometimes it taste like gritty paper. waitresses cater to the locals regulars more than anyone else, we were not the only ones.
Very tender chicken on the nachos and more than enough food! Nice and personable as well.

I will definitely recommend anyone to the City cafe the food was hot and delicious. So you get a chance to go there stop by and get you some good ole food. Man the chicken wings were cooked exactly how I like. JOB WELL DONE!!

We stopped here on the way home from Surf City and got our food to-go, eating as we drove. We were all hungry, but it was seriously one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. I don't know what did it, the older folks flocking in and out, the nicely wrapped sandwiches?!? Regardless, this spot has my highest praise!
