My friend and I went to Sam Jones around 3:00 after watching a movie. It wasn't very busy and there were about 6 people in line in front of us. We stood in line for a very long time and the line never moved. We don't know why. All we wanted to do was place our order and sit down but nobody moved. We turned around and left. Very disappointing.

Order counter folks were friendly and helpful. The sound of bbq being chopped is loud, and music to my ears. I got the bbq tray with slaw, portions were ample and overflowing the paper trays. Drinks were refilled and floor staff was friendly. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Greenville.

This was the first time there and you can believe me when I say barbecue hotspot. The barbecue was slow cooked over a wood fire which gave it a smoky taste. It had a hint of vinegar to perfection. The taste was exceptional. I got as my two sides potato salad and beans. The beans were some of the best beans that I have eaten. They also had a taste of open fire pit with red peppers added. The potato salad was good as well. What more can I say about this place. It’s one of the best barbecue places that anyone can go. A must if you are in the Winterville area.

I love the BBQ at the. Skylight Inn in Ayden, the BBQ is the best that I know of. I recently went to Sam Jones on Fire tower road in Winterville, NC. I got a pound of BBQ, The BBQ at Sam Jones had a different taste, and look about it. After eating it I realized it had a greasy taste, and a shredded texture to it. It had no chopped pieces of pork in it. It was no way as good as the BBQ served at the Skylight Inn in Ayden, NC. I don't know if it was an off day, but I will stick to the Skylight Inn in Ayden, NC for my BBQ. I was very disappointed in this BBQ.

Stopped in for the first time. I had called ahead to see when they served their brisket they said after 2pm on Mondays Got there at 2:05 the lady at the register when I asked about the brisket she said I don’t know if it’s ready. I started into her empty blue eyes for a five Mississippi then said how can we find out. She then said she guess she could ask someone. 5 minutes later she said yeah, we have brisket Ordered it came in a timely manner. The waitress checked on us after 20 minutes I told her we would need a to go box After another 10 minutes of no box gave up and left. Food is not cheap but good Some kind of service like they care is what’s going to keep me from going back
