We had a very nice experience at La Duna Paradiso. The food was excellent and the ambience is very nice. Beachy with an upscale vibe. We ordered 2 appetizers; the focacia and scallops. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping was top notch. The scallops were ceviche style and exquisite. We shared the black sea bass entree. Deelicious...fish perfectly cooked. Light crunch on top of super moist bass. It was a very quiet Martin Luther King holiday at the hotel so service was very attentive. It is a little pricey but location explains that. Well worth it!
Absolutely amazing food, world class service, and a quiet inviting atmosphere. Everything from the socially curated cocktails to the classic dishes were executed perfectly and delicious. We will be back soon for another date night.
This place has tremendous potential and with some refinement can be a two week wait to get in kind of establishment. Service needs to be refined and the kitchen expeditor needs to pay better attention to what is sent out as we experienced a few careless oversights. Worth trying.
Chef Michelle Matthew's and her team are pumping out amazing food and hospitality is 12/10. This is my 4th time dining with La Duna and will be back for many more. Our waitress Madison was so sweet and attentive.
Excellent food and beautiful presentation. Wide variety of options to please everyone. You can definitely tell there's a talented and experienced chef's touch. Service was friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that the restaurant was a little bright for dinner service. If the lights could be dimmed it would add to the ambiance.
Awful thanksgiving experience. We arrived on time and were seared however, no waiters attended to us after sitting for thirty minutes. Two families came in after us seated next to us and received bread and water and a greeting we did not. When we asked to cancel the reservation after trying to get a waiters attention and we were told they simply didn't “see us”. We were the only family of color which also lead to suspicion for the service.
The worst experience for food and value I think I have ever had. Overcooked, dried out, and simply inedible. We left without even having dessert. Outrageously priced for terrible food.
Rushed rushed rushed. Literally made me order dessert during the start and served it 5m after I received entree. They obviously wanted us in and out as fast as possible and could not keep up with drinks. Granted it was Thanksgiving. It did not meet the value.
Overall disappointing. Booked for my family of 8 for Thanksgiving. We were walked into a hallway room with an awkward folding table and strange chairs. I asked if we could sit in the restaurant and was told that large parties (only 8 people!) have to sit in this weird space. The other table was extremely loud and rude and thankfully they left as our food was served. The waitress said they are serving 300 meals and each meal is mapped out. Not appropriate to say to customers on a holiday. The food is incredibly overpriced for what we received. The turkey - star of the show - was dry. Family style is fine but the food was over salted and not impressive. It was just okay. All things were luke warm except for one bowl of sweet potatoes that came hot. They overcharged me for my 11 year old, never asking the ages. Since my husband wanted to pick up the check for our extended family, he handed them the card before they brought the check to avoid a fight. 1k for 8 people and and at the end, my aunt asked if she could take the very few leftovers. They said no and it made me feel grossed out that they might be re-serving the food. Would not recommend this place, most especially for a holiday. This could have been $40 pp max. We live in NY and weren't deterred by the high prices, but it did not meet basic standards. My husband also tipped extra which I wish he hadn't because the server wasn't great. I'm happy to pay a lot to get a lot. We were ripped off here. Not at all recommend and they owe me a refund for my daughters meal.
It wasn't bad. Seating was extremely uncomfortable, food was eh. It looks pretty though and the ambiance is great!

This was our first time visiting and we had our niece from Boston with us. We all three were absolutely thrilled with our choice and ate every bite. I had the seared halibut which was cooked perfectly over polenta. Our waiter was cordial and profession. The ambience was great for conversation and the design was casual elegance. We will definitely return!
OK. You and your sweetheart are away for the weekend because it is your 43rd wedding anniversary. Everything has been splendid so far and you decide to go to a restaurant that other than your usual spot for celebrations. Italian, we cheer! Of course ! This is a perfect choice! We go to trusty YELP and put Italian in the search engine. Hey! Here's one; it's only six minutes away and it's got fairly good reviews. Let's go there!! It is LaDuna Paradisco. (their sign could've been better lit, we missed it the first time round.) We enter, giddy in love even after all these years; we do really have a lot to celebrate. We still love each other. 43 years!! The entrance decor was a real delight. The furnishings reminded us of Hemingway's Cuba: all bamboo, pale green and white striped tropical, retro-modern and low to the ground. Just charming. We are happily greeted and seated in a far away corner. This crew knew we had our anniversary and did everything that they could to make it romantic, including turning the lights down low. We ordered martinis; we both had to admit that they were quite generous. Then we ordered our food ... It was downhill from there. We ordered two salads; again, quite generous, the greens were cold, fresh and lovely. The dressing was not. It was far from Italian, and while there was couscous added, it made the salad somewhat gritty. The Buscetta we ordered was unexpected. Expecting grilled bread with olive oil and garlic, we received bread topped with a menagerie of ingredients. Again, the prosciutto was lovely, but the rest of it was misplaced. We split an order of pasta carbonara. The process itself was to the tooth and excellent; pancetta, was toasty and crisp but the dish overall was incredibly dry. Now let me share: it has been our experience / as most other people - having a celebration, the chef and restaurant usually goes out of its way to offer a dessert in the celebration, sometimes with great flair and humor. Nope!
It was terrible. The bartender prepared a whiskey sour for my wife which was undrinkable. Prepared a Manhattan for me which was nothing more that a double shot of bourbon. The meal was worse. My wife ordered the octopus appetizer. It looked like finely shaved radishes with a pile of arugula in the middle. My halibut was edible but the unrecognizable side vegetable couldn't bu cut with a knife. We loved the hotel. But will not return to the restaurant unless people we know let us know that there has been a dramatic improvement.
Overall not worth your time or money. Very expensive and the food wasn't anything to write home about.
The steak was really really bad for $64. It was grisly and it was cut up? Our server was so sweet and wanted to do great but was not well trained. The manager did come out and try to make it all ok and he gave us another dish to take home. Won't be back anytime soon.
