Apparently its closed--- Has had an invalid phone number listed for several months. THEY OVERCHARGED MY CREDIT CARD AND I COULD NOT REACH ANYONE EVEN DURING BUSINESS HOURS NUMBER LISTED IS INVALID. Just shady since I see it open as a bar only on Friday and Saturday nights. i dont believe they serve food anymore updated October 2023
Wow! We are locals and are pleasantly surprised. We weren’t expecting such great food and service. We will be coming again, for sure.
The website link is incorrect on tripadvisor. The place was just remodeled after being closed for a few weeks per owner. Limited menu, w/ just about 6 items, since they were reopening, but food was good. Husband had a meal, but I stuck to fried pickles appetizer. Parking free after 5 pm in the lot next door which is a plus since parking is a problem a block from the beach. We did not see this place at its best, so someone else needs to review in a few weeks. Chef is competent.
The Owner Jimmy is great and will work very hard to give you the best experience. My wedding was a complete success because of him. He worked with me on the food, drinks, decorations. I thought I was going to have to cancel my wedding but Jimmy made my dreams come true
The venue is small but intimate. They do a good job setting the atomosphere with candle light. The calamari appetizer was flavorful, crispy-crunchy goodness and was fabulously paired with an orange marmalade. The mister and I agree that it was the best calamari we have ever eaten! Everything has a farm to table fresh feel. The lobster risoto was perfection. My mister is a big eater and even he was no match for the stone ground country style shrimp and cheesy grits.
Neat little place. Uncrowded, and they have a new chef since we ate there last time. The soup was outstanding, and the Shrimp and Grits was great as well. Always a stop for us whenever we go to Wrightsville.
I was shocked !!!! Let me start by saying when we lived at the beach for years I ate here often and was one of my favorite places. We went on a Friday night with a large group 9 of us early 6.00 there was no-one but us to start with then a another part came in behind us about 30 mins later so spacing should have been great for the staff as there was NO ONE else in the place even at the bar. Drink and bar service was crap one of our part couldn't get a drink so he when to the bar got a drink sent to the table. The food was crap 4 of us had steak and lobster we all left most on the plate the steak was poor cut to say the least the lobster was lukewarm . One person had beef tenderloin the plate was warm but meat was cold, great flavor to be fair. I was bragging the whole day on how great this place was. I coved the whole bill for everyone it was embarrassing to say the least With less than 16 people in the place on a Friday night I know why now .
This is the second time we have been disappointed at 22 North. Service was very slow and there were only three or four talked occupied. Food was okay but not as good as a few years ago. The coupon from the Attractions book made it affordable, but I don't expect to go there again.
Made reservations (as recommended in brochure); however, when we arrived we were told to just grab any table we wanted. Service went downhill from there (absent / forgetful waiter). Food was good (6 on a scale of 10). Will NOT return.
Food and service was very good. The place needs a complete over haul. The food was priced way over what should be expected of a place like 22. Very disappointed as the web site was misleading. Also NO she crab soup and no fish stuffed with crab meat as ALL restaurants on the beach have this on their menu. Had we known this, we would have gone to King Neptune across the street. Have had stuffed flounder for over 5o years .

Expected fancier decor and ambiance from website. Was somewhat disappointed on first sight, but the realized that we're at the beach and decided to stay. The greeter and server were super nice. The food was definitely top notch and an excellent value. Would be returning many times if living in the area.
Food was great, ambiance not so great. Half the restaurant layout was romantic and dimly lit, the other half looked like a cheap bar scene. The same goes for the menu. It seems like they're not really sure what vibe they wanted to go for so they just picked both.
Overall food was really good...scallops in curry sauce and shrimp and grits. The service was really slow, they were out of a couple of appetizers and it was a Saturday night. Decor is ok, but the chairs are not comfortable
Food was amazing. Manager sensed our children were getting a little restless and even brought out chalk and chalkboards to entertain them so the parents could finish our drinks and dessert!
What a great restaurant and our server, Ian, made it so special with just the right amount of chat without being intrusive. The alligator appetizer was so tender and the sauce was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits -- everyone has their own recipe for this southern staple and while this was not my favorite version, it would make a fan out of any newcomer to the meal. My husband had a super fresh, delicately seasoned swordfish, Mom had the red drum that she is still craving one week later, and my vegetarian daughter had the beach menu mac n' cheese (okay) and grilled vegetables that she said were fantastic. For drinks we had one Cosmo (!!) and a bottle of chardonnay -- chilled to perfection. The only reason I don't come here more often is the menu is very limited (based on fresh catch of the day) and my husband doesn't like surprises in menu choices. Otherwise, this would be my go-to restaurant. Parking is a hassle but I got lucky and eventually got the spot right in front!
