Grew up going to Briggs Bbq, this was my first time going since the new folks have opened up there, they far exceeded my expectations! Fantastic, delicious home style food, and the excellent service was even better than the food. Give them a try you won’t regret it. I always judge a restaurant by their fried okra- my favorite dish. Theirs was cooked to perfection! ?

We stopped thinking this was still only a country cooking place, but I was thrilled to see Jamaican food on the menu and to find the gentleman taking our order was Jamaican. My wife and I had the Oxtails, Curry Goat, and Jerk chicken. The oxtail was maybe the best I’ve had, the jerk chicken stunning, and my wife loved the curry goat, but it was a definite third place for me. My parents had a burger and pulled pork sandwich, and they loved them. Definitely coming back soon.

What an awesome surprise find. I rarely do food reviews as I'm very picky. Top notch home cooked southern... but here's the icing on the cake... authentic jerked chicken and caribbean. Literally the most authentic within 3hr radius of RTP... and the best ive had outside jamaica and nyc. Worth a detour to get fed they these nice folks.

Food was okay, but WAY overpriced for what you get. For two plates with a small serving of BBQ pork and 2 sides, and ice tea and it was $40 before tip. The menu on the wall has no prices listed. But this town has few options but I doubt we will be back.

I used to be so-so about bar b que until we stopped into Briggs. We were warmly welcomed by a sweet woman wearing an apron and told to sit anywhere. She was busy holding down the fort-taking orders and cooking too. I later learned that it was a family run business. I ordered the "spicey meatloaf" with 2 sides (there were a lot of side options to choose from). My two sides were fried okra and stuffing. She ordered the chopped bar-b-que pork with coleslaw and mac 'n cheese. We sampled each other's food with the satisfied expression of closed eyes and a 'MMMM" while eating. Everything was DEE-liscious! Wonderfully seasoned, great portions and perfectly cooked. It's one of those times when I wished that I had a bigger belly or a clone, so that I could try more food!...or pick up and move to Yanceyville NC! Other patrons asked a lot of questions about the other menu items. That's when I learned about their "black cornbread". The owner said it was her father's recipe. It uses black cornmeal and other spices. We took ours to go and later (really) enjoyed it back at our hotel. The owner/cook also gave us a sample of her chicken salad. It was so so good, seasoned wonderfully...more reason to be fatter to be able to eat more!! I would recommend anything and everything there, because I'm sure it's cooked right and with love! Thanks Briggs for helping me appreciate wonderful southern/BBQ food!
