Worst experience. I literally just got into town after a long delayed flight. Took an Uber to the restaurant. And was told that they are no longer serving food even though their website says that they’re open until 11 o’clock. If you wanna go, make sure you call ahead of time. Absolutely a waste of time for me.

Decor features rustic charm with soft lighting and warm wood
The restaurant was almost empty and when we asked for a table they were very rude and said they weren't accepting walk-ins.

Wow. Really was looking forward to trying this place and had booked a table for 8 for my bookclub. I was called 2 hrs prior to my reservation telling me their dining service was limited. What? They have a 24 hour cancelation policy but I was only given 2 hours to scramble and get another place to go to? As I was telling them this I was promptly hung up on! Huckleberry House you just lost 8 customers. Sorry I don't deal with rudeness or the ability to be an actual restaurant.
We were in town for the weekend, and wanted to try something new and unique. Ended up coming here and don't regret it.
First of all, it is directly on the river, so eating on the patio provides exceptional views.
The food was good for what it was. The menu is already quite small and the night we went they had sold out of quite a few options, so it can be hard to choose what you want. However, the menu items are indeed unique, and you won't find these items on other menus, so just trust the process and try something even if it is out of your comfort zone. You could be pleasantly surprised!!
Now, it isn't somewhere I would go often, but it would certainly be one of those places I would take visitors to for the experience, or a spot to stop off during a motorcycle ride.

Kayla, the current GM goes above and beyond for her customers. A great, clean, establishment with a great view and awesome food.

They were out of everything including cheese which they used processed Velveeta. Used to be a great place. How to get up and go pay at the front because we were just left unattended for so long. If your restaurant is based on cheese and blue cheese and butter paste then don't be out of cheese they were out of everything I came there for we will not be back.

Ordered 4 appetizers. Have had the Hasselhof numerous times. They changed the recipe pouring velvets cheese sauce on it. Used to use Gouda. 12 people dined with as a group at least 6 complained food was a BOMB.

**★☆☆☆☆ DO NOT host a special occasion here.**
We hosted a reception at The Huckleberry House—one of the most meaningful events in our family’s life—and were incredibly disappointed by the complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service. Despite being promised a reduced brunch menu and staffed service for our party of 30, we were met with disinterest, disorganization, and what felt like outright neglect.
Only **one server** was assigned to our entire group. It took **over an hour just to take drink orders**, and we were **not given any menus** for food or beverages. When we asked about the modified menu that had been confirmed by the owner, a staff member replied, “Is that something you expected us to provide?”
While our guests sat waiting, the only server was seen **scrolling on her phone** and said she wouldn’t take food orders until all the drinks were made and served—an inefficient approach that left guests waiting **well over 90 minutes** for food. Meanwhile, several other staff members were visibly idle, also on their phones, rather than helping.
We felt **trapped in an embarrassing situation**, unable to ensure even a baseline level of hospitality for our guests. When we asked Kayla for help using the regular menus, she said, “I guess that’s a good idea, but I wish that were my department,” offering no real assistance. Some of our guests ended up **going downstairs to order food and drinks themselves** because they were never approached by the server.
We regret choosing this venue. It was clear early on that the staff was not only **unprepared**, but **uninterested**, making an already stressful event far more difficult. For a restaurant that promotes itself as an event venue, this was a massive failure.

I dined at The Huckleberry House three days in a row for lunch and honestly, I can’t say enough good things. The atmosphere is unbeatable — sitting out on the patio right along the Missouri River made each meal feel relaxing and special. The service was consistently great and surprisingly quick, even during the lunch rush.
While a lot of people seem to come for the drinks, I was blown away by the food. Every dish I tried had thoughtful, complex flavors that never felt overdone or heavy — just really well-balanced and delicious. And for the quality, the prices were more than fair.
If you’re in the area, this place is a must. I’m already looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in town!
