Pirogue Grille is a charming restaurant, perfect for date night or special occasions. The food is delicious, with standout dishes including morel risotto, prosciutto wrapped swordfish, eggplant with smoked cheese, and bison in sauce. Recently, customers have enjoyed the beet salad, Walleye Cakes, and Chicken Breast with smoked cheese and apple chutney. The excellent walleye and salmon were good. The sides were terrific with mashed potatoes enhanced with caramelized onions and a really good vegetable medley of green beans, carrots and zucchini. The bison medallions were cooked to perfection, the walleye was flaky and fresh, and the seasonal sides were clearly crafted with care and creativity. For dessert, the almond cannoli with blackberry sauce and lime cream is a must-try, along with the praised pumpkin cheesecake and choke cherry ice cream. The custard cake and crème brûlée and chocolate-espresso tart were also enjoyed. The service is excellent, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu. Service was impeccable with friendly staff. The restaurant offers a fine selection of cocktails and wines, including a nice glass of Washington Merlot. The atmosphere is great with a cozy, upscale charm. It is one of the best dining options in Bismarck, with vegetarian options available and accommodations for dietary restrictions. Pirogue Grille is definitely a place to return to for a fantastic dining experience.
