By far the best date night location in town! The food is incredible and I’ve never had a bad experience there!

Pierogi is a great place if you’re looking for a relaxing night out that serves good food. Restaurant is big enough for a large party, but also has space for smaller groups. Menu is unique with fair prices. Excellent wine selection! Ordered the wild rice salad and the beat salad to try both. Only complaint is my NY strip was a little on the thinner side and reminded me of a ribeye cut without the fat. Expected it to be thicker. However, the flavor was excellent and cooked to perfection! Also had the crème brûlée for dessert (forgot to take a photo). Doesn’t matter…it was the best crème brûlée I’ve had in years! Service was excellent! Unfortunately, I don’t remember our servers name, but she was friendly, attentive, and very nice! She understood the menu and was able to answer questions we had.

Our server Deon was fantastic. I was slightly overwhelmed with the menu because it was a past my comfort zone on flavor pallet. He suggested the scallops and I couldn't be more appreciative. They were tender, not grainy and the sauce was excellent. I ate them down and forgot about the rice in the center. Which might have been my mistake! Next time if I order it I'll mix the dish together. It was played so well I didn't want to disrupt the look! Thank you Deon. You were a fantastic waiter and I'm greatful for your help! You made my first time eating here special!

Good but not great. Chicken pasta ok but under spiced; walleye good but also under spiced. Beet salad good; corn-bison soup meh. Best restaurant in Bismarck? Hope not.

Pirogue Grille is a true Bismarck gem — warm, welcoming, and a genuine staple in our community. The owners are outstanding people who clearly care about their restaurant and the guests they serve. It’s consistently one of my go-to spots for a special date night or a relaxed dinner with family and friends.
As a longtime customer, I’ve generally enjoyed very good food and a pleasant dining atmosphere. In recent visits I’ve noticed service has dipped a bit and there have been a couple occasions where beef or bison came out overcooked or tough. I’m confident these are isolated issues tied to the broader staffing and supply challenges businesses face today rather than a reflection of the restaurant’s usual standards.
One small change I’ve observed is the shift toward more casual attire among patrons — a sign of changing times, not of the establishment itself — but the quality and heart behind Pirogue Grille remain. I’ll keep coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal in Bismarck. Support a local favorite — you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered the all the weekly specials for the week of October 7th and they were all fantastic! Service was phenomenal! Not too loud and very efficient kitchen. Very reasonable price for the quality of food. Also I can tell after reading the few reviews that aren’t glowing, the people who wrote them are difficult, unrealistic and pretentious. To those folks stop writing reviews just because you cannot fill the void in your empty soul.

Generally love this place. However tonight the service and attitude was less than desirable. I always get the bison. The first dish was so tough couldn’t even cut it. Sent it back, the second dish was burnt and raw at the same time, and inedible. They did comp the meal but no apology, no acknowledgment that maybe they had a bad cut of bison, just a snarky waitress with an attitude.

What a lovely restaurant to finish our our 10day trip to the Dakotas and Montana!
We called earlier in the day to get reservations but they were sold out due to my their 29th anniversary special. However, we were told to come in around 8 pm and we'd probably get a table after a short wait. So we did and were seated within 10 minutes.
We both opted for the anniversary menu... Ordered different things and everything was delicious. My pheasant pot pie was delicious and the strawberry Panna Cotta was just delightful. Hostess and serving was great and they certainly deserve the 5's across the board.

The best meal I had in Bismarck! The food was absolutely delicious. I would come back to North Dakota from the East Coast just to eat here again. I foolishly thought I wouldn’t need a reservation so I ended up at the bar but it was great because I made some new friends - who were all regulars, and for good reason! I enjoyed everything I ate/drank. I had the ND Sour Cherry Gin & Tonic; Green Grape Gazpacho (incredible); wedge Salad w/o bacon (classic but elevated w White Cheddar dressing); braised rabbit w spaetzle (garlicky goodness with fresh Parmesan on top). I’m bummed they don’t open for lunch because I’m flying out today and would have loved to go again. You will NOT Regret coming here - but make a reservation

I had the excellent walleye and the missus had salmon which was also good. The sides were terrific with the mashed potatoes enhanced with caramelized onions and a really good vegetable medley of green beans, carrots and zucchini.
We succumbed to the custard cake desert and somehow made room for it.
